~ vampiric one ~

Ever wondered what it's like to have a vampire lifestyle?
Well let me slow it down for you, vampire 101.

Vampires who are born vampires age. Yep. We age. Slowly and we can still last for basically a couple of centuries. Think of it as when you turn eighteen, you don't age for another hundred years. Yep. Like that.

When you turn sixteen you start to manifest the powers of a vampire but you're not quite there yet. It starts small with compulsion, flight, speed, fire, sometimes telekinesis- that depends on the linage in the clan you're born in- and my brothers favourite- healing factor.

He turned eighteen about twenty-two years ago though so he's used to having his full vampiric abilities. Which also includes the downfall, such as staying out in the sun too long causes a wicked sunburn. Or inability to go into bodies of water. I never truly understood that one. Oh and the usual, not appearing in photographs. Yeah... mirrors are fine but you're screwed taking a photo.

So let's bring up the other factor about being a vampire.
The human to vampire transition.

So as I said, when you're born a vampire, you age until you're eighteen then it takes a good couple of centuries for you to get old. For humans turning into vampires however, freeze.

Think of a rose that's been dipped in liquid nitrogen. It's frozen in time, never ageing. It's almost like the heart has a layer of ice around it, your molecules freezing so you don't get old.

Those vampires live for all eternity unless slaughtered which is a big thing for the Van Helsing cult.

So there you have it folks, the vampire history 101. The story of born vampires and turned vampires.

"Scarlett Dracula get your bat wings here this instant!" My father booms through our castle.

I roll my eyes and super speed down to him. My father was tall, pale and had eyes like death. He was also a bit of an idiot.

My brother stood next to him, even more deadly than my father and even more powerful. He was after all the heir to the Dracula clan.

"Yes?" I ask before glancing around our nearly empty living room. All that remained was a few candles and the fire place.

"What the hell?" I say before my father can speak.

"We are moving, dumbass" my brother says, smirking.

"Oh shut up Malik!" I shout in annoyance. My father claps his hands as Malik goes to bite back, having the noise echo through the castle, stinging our ears.

"Jesus" I mumble wiggling my finger inside my ear. Malik looks at me disgusted but doesn't say a word.

"Yes we are moving Scarlett, the old country serves us no more.. we are moving to a new country"

"Dad. What did you do" I say accusingly. He did this every five or so years. We move to a different massive castle in a pretty huge country such as at the moment we live in Romania then my father goes and terrorises the local neighbourhood, the locals get suspicious of vampire attacks and we move.

"Nothing, just a small misunderstanding. That's all" he lies. I roll my eyes.

"Anyway, I want you to pack everything, we move tonight to the airport" he explains.

"Where are we going exactly?" I ask.

"Um.. to.. North Wiltshire.."

"Where?"

"England. Dummy" Malik says and I make a fist of Fire he eggs me to do it and my father slaps his hand to his forehead.

"So go pack your stuff and this time, we blend as an average family"
