Ojiro is an all-around nervous kind of guy. Many things will make him sweat, and if not that, many things will make his heart skip a beat.
Some of those things would make almost anyone squirm, like a villain attack or scary movies or a haunted house, like the one he was in now.
But the reason he was so jumpy right now was not because of the creepy ghost-woman thing on the ceiling who was hissing at him, it was because of the girl walking next to him.
That girl was Toru Hagakure, who was currently clutching onto Ojiro's right arm.
Now, Ojiro could talk to girls. He wasn't shy or anything, he was always just a bit tense. He had crushes and girlfriends before, but he could always form a comprehensive sentence in front of them. He could always be his normal self.
But this was different, and not normal.
Toru was different and not normal, and that was probably the reason Ojiro was so nervous right now.
The women of his past had always admired him for his looks and his famous family. He was grateful for the people that idolized him in those ways, but it never felt deeper than that.
However, Hagakure had been the only one to love him. Not just for his complexion or heritage, but for his personality and interests. Hagakure had loved him because- well, just because she loved him. And that was an amazing feeling that he reciprocated.
Why is he thinking about this right now? They are literally waddling through western Japan's scariest haunted house, and he all he can think about is sappy sticky feelings.
Ojiro, at the moment, was nervous like he almost always was. But this nervous was different; it was sappy-sticky-nervous.
It was like a normal type of timidness. His heart was racing, his forehead was beaded with sweat. But the reason it was sappy and sticky? Well, the girl of his dreams was holding on to his arm. And the way she did it; it gave him value. It gave him a feeling that was even better when he was fighting villains.
Maybe that's why he was having those sorts of thoughts right now. Maybe that's why he was going through a mushy and syrupy uneasiness. Maybe that's why Toru was all Ojiro could think about sometimes.
Maybe that's why he will treasure this moment forever.
(A/N: I know the meme at the top kind of ruins the cuteness, but maybe that's what I want! Thanks for reading, my dudes!)
