Y/N: "look, sir, I'm really sorry for not making it here on time..."

Y/N: "...and to top it off I accidentally ran into Sonia the hedgehog..."

Boss: "....y/n....."

Y/N: " but this will never happen again I swear sir....."

Boss: ".......*sigh* look Y/N, you're not here because you were late...."

Y/N: "I'm not?"

I notice the saddened expression he has

Boss: "truth is...the company has made an executive decision to layoff some workers"

my heart quickens its pace

Boss: "a-and....your name was on the list.....im so sorry Y/N, but you're fired.....look I'll do anything in my power to make sure you get full benefit's because I know you didn't deserve this..."

I try to speak

but my throat is dry

I manage to utter some words

Y/N: "w-well....I-I'm....honored to have worked under you, sir...."

I look at the ground

'oh god...what am I going to do.."

I feel a hand on my shoulder

I look up and see the boss there

Boss: "Y/N...call me Tanaka, none of that boss stuff anymore. C'mon lets have one drink, you and me before you go."

he hands me a shot glass

I take it 

he pours some whiskey into it

he grabs one and pours himself a glass as well

he raises his glass

Tanaka: "...To being the best damn worker I've ever had...."

I raise my glass

Y/N: "...to having the best damn boss ever..."

we both gulp down the sour tasting liquid in sync

once done I leave my glass on his desk

Y/N: "I'm going to clean out my desk....I'll see you around Tanaka"

Tanaka: "aye Y/N... you take care of yourself OK......i hope you find a job soon"

I give him a solemn smile

Y/N: "me too...."

without any more words, I leave his office

I shut the door behind me

and trudge to my soon empty desk
