"hey, sungwoon hyung."
the boy that was called turned to face him and tilted his head.
"you think hyelin's gonna come today?"
sungwoon pursed his lips at what jaehwan said and sighed.
"i dont know, she didnt reply to my text messages since last month."
nine other boys came rushing to the counter after they ate their late lunch.
it was supposed to be their day off but they chose to come and work at the cafe.
slightly having hopes that hyelin would still come.
they planned to say sorry as a whole group since minhyun was too sad when he realized his mistake.
"argh, i shouldnt have done that. damn, minhyun!"
the boys turned to the frustrated boy and sungwoon made his way to tap minhyun's back.
"yah, it's okay. i know she understood why you were like that. you're also studying so she knows you're just stressed out."
but will she come?
sungwoon sighed and glanced over the glass box placed at the cabinet beside the counter.
inside it, hyelin's ring could be found.
the ring that she dropped a month ago.
when he saw the girl drop the ring, he felt like his heart dropped along with it.
stop it, woon.
he looked away from the cabinet and left the counter.
jisung saw him and chased after the boy who went to the back of the cafe, outside the employees lounge.
"why are you crying?"
the younger couldnt keep himself from crying. he was very hurt when the girl turned her back to them.
but it hurt him most when she promised not to come back and even dropped the ring.
"hyung," jisung fought the urge to cry and hugged sungwoon.
"tell me what's wrong."
sungwoon took in a deep breath and composed himself before talking.
"the ring she dropped, i gave that to her before."
jisung didnt seem to be surprised but he nodded.
"we met back some time back and we became friends. long story short, i ended our friendship for a petty reason."
"same goes for me,"
sungwoon stared at him wide-eyed.
"you--"
"i remembered two months ago. her ringtone, was the same song she wanted to give to me back then."
"hyung, i have a bad feeling about this."
"let's just trust her,"
"no, listen. if she didnt remove the ring since then, and only removed it now, maybe she was serious."
"let's hope for the best."
**
it's already 6pm and the boys already lost their hope that hyelin would show up.
minhyun and jinyoung stayed at the counter for their shift.
just when the nine other boys were about to leave, they heard the bell at the door, chime.
