Shaking her head Daley moves her hands over her face. It's hard! A wedding dress, location, other shit that comes with it. There are so many things that she loves, but Marcus doesn't. And things he likes but she doesn't, there are little things they both like. They still need to pick a date. They both want the day to perfect. The door bell rings, someone very excited waiting at the door. He has left her alone for almost three months. He looks up from his shoes when the door opens. 'Daniel?' Surprised she looks at the male. She was not expecting him to be here.
'G'day. I promise I won't stay long, I was close. Figured you wanted this back.' He hands her a package. From the package she looks back up at Daniel, who has a smile on her face. He is so adorable.
'My bra?' She can't believe he is here to deliver her bra, her fucking bra, after three months. Daniel nods. 'Can I offer you something to drink?' She asks, still a little hesitating, not sure if it's the right thing to do. Daniel enters the apartment when Daley takes a step aside.
'Water is good.' Daniel looks around the loft. 'You live here together with Marcus?' How does he know his name? She doesn't remember telling him.
'I do. He moved in with me couple years back.' She couldn't gave up this amazing place, she has been living here for four years. The computer screen catches Daniel's eye, wedding dresses. So they are still going strong, disappointing. 'Take a seat.' She points at one of the chairs at the table. They both sit down, Daley cleans some of her stuff. 'Cookie?' The box is half empty, she was in the mood for food. Daniel notices the half eating box, one cookie won't hurt. 'So you were close?'
'Yeah nah, I made an extra stop. The race is at Montreal this weekend.' At least its not somewhere in Europe, Montreal is pretty close.
'You didn't had to bring it back.'
'You girls need that, they are expensive.' How does he know? Did he looked it up? A soft smile on Daley her face.
'You could've just sent it through the post.' But instead he came her to hand it personally.
'You didn't gave me your address.' He shrugs. He found it on her site.
'But somehow you could find me personally?' They start to laugh. Busted.
'I also wanted to show you this.' A paper. Her eyes quickly move over the paper, then she moves the paper back and shakes her head.
'A NDA, you're kidding me right? You think I would walk around yelling; I fucked with Daniel Ricciardo, twice? I have a fiancé Daniel. I'm not dumb.' Daley is not going to sign it, not in a hundred years. Not really the answer Daniel wanted to hear but she also has a point. She is the one having a fiancé, he is the one trying to break it.
'Sydney is cute,' he changes the subject. She is asleep on her spot, Daley had a long walk with her, she didn't even bothered to greet Daniel, normally she does somehow notices the doorbell.
'She is turning four tomorrow.' But Daley only has her for three years, she was already a little trained when Daley got her from the people who trained her to become a service dog. Sydney became deaf after a couple months. 'Butta how is your season going so far?' She hasn't watched any race since Australia.
'It goes with ups and downs.' Anything better than the Aussie race.
'I'm sure you're a good driver.' Daniel starts to smile.
'You still haven't deepened yourself in the sport? Time is running out Daley.' He shakes his head, fake disappointed at her. She smiles.
'I know! I'm going to France next week, to the factory, I'm sure they will teach me some stuff.' Next race weekend is France, will she be there too? He is doesn't ask.
'If you're not to silly for it.' Hurt Daley opens her mouth.
'That's not nice for you to say mr. Ricciardo.' But still she has a smile on her face. The front door opens. She was not expecting for Marcus to be home already. Daniel's eyes meet with Marcus'. Daniel gets why they are a couple, Marcus is good looking. 'Hi babe, you're early.' Marcus is surprised seeing Daniel here, he knows who he is. Marcus kisses Daley, leaving Daniel jealous, wanting to kiss her too. If Marcus only knew what they have been doing, he would not be happy. He wants to tell him, but Daley will not be happy with him and probably be mad with him forever; and that's not what he wants. Plus he wanted her to sign a NDA, so he should keep his own mouth shut. The paper still laying on the table.
'Daniel Ricciardo.' He introduces himself, shaking hands with Marcus.
'Marcus Grey.' Marcus feels a weird tension hanging. He is not sure what it is.
'He is the son of my fathers friend, we met at the race.' She has to explain to Marcus. Daniel focused on Daley, she shakes her head behind Marcus' back. He can't ruin this for me.
'Okay, I'm gonna take a shower.' Marcus kisses Daley on her hair, pets Sydney before heading upstairs. Daniel can tell by the look on her face she is relieved he is gone.
'Next time I see you, you have more knowledge of the sport,' he continues the conversation where they stopped. Smiling Daley nods. Daniel moves the paper closer to Daniel, wanting him to put it away.
'I will. Now take this.' Daniel drinks the water that's left in his glass and folds the paper.
'It's time for me to go.' He gets up, Daley follows him to the front door. 'Thanks for letting me in.' Daley smiles, she had to offer him something to drink, that's how she is raised. 'See you next time.' Daley softly pushes Daniel outside the door, almost closing the door behind her.
'Thanks for not saying anything.' Daniel nods.
'Nah yeah of course, I wouldn't dare, I wanted you to sign a NDA; maybe you should let me sign one.' She shakes her head, she knows he'll keep his mouth shut, even before today. Daley's hand on the back of his head, she kisses one cheek.
'Good luck this weekend.' Daniel thanks her and then walks off.
'Daniel!' He turns around, he was almost around the corner. Away from her life again.
'It's Samantha.' With a soft smile she walks back into her apartment. Daniel doesn't understand at first, but then starts to smile too. Her second name.'What about this one?' Marcus and Daley are looking at wedding locations. Daley loves a spot with at the water, simple, or a barn. Marcus is more over the top.
'A castle?' It's pretty, but not what Daley wants.
'How dope would that be?' She shakes her head.
'Don't know Marc.' She lets her head rest on his shoulder. It's so difficult.
'Or Bali?' Bali, no. Beautiful place, but no. She shakes her head. Honeymoon maybe.
'This.' Daley points at the screen, a very simple picture, but it is in between the mountains in New Zealand. Marcus continues, that's a no.
'Nice.' The place, a villa in Nice. Daley shakes her head. 'We need a big venue, if we're gonna invite our friends and family.' He wants her to invite all her "famous" friends, that he call his friends too. But Marcus has more friends than she has, of course she has contact with people. But still feels lonely sometimes.
'I know, I just don't like the castle thing.' Marcus stops. 'Next.' Marcus sights.
'It isn't working this way.' Daley sights too. She totally agrees with him. They are too diverse.
'Lets both make our top 6 locations and then we'll see.' Marcus is fine with that, he was done with this shit. He doesn't understand why she can't say yes to anything he likes. Marcus and Daley like allot of different things. Marcus is a more from structure, expensive, big, modern things. While Daley is the complete opposite, even though she grew up with money, she hates it, it handy to have, yes, but bragging that you have money is a big no go. Her father isn't a men who shows he has money, he wears simple clothes, he is a simple man. Daley defiantly got that from him, not that her mother is much different. Her father made her and her siblings work when they were old enough, carrying stones, painting, stuff like that; to earn a bit of money.
