Arianne's Plan

Cat's older sister took us on a grand tour of the entire compound. There were bridges connecting each building to each other to make easier ways of getting to another place rather than just flying around all day. It may have looked big from up in Thomas' jet, but actually walking around the place made me feel like an ant in New York city.

We met a few of Arianne's friends. They were the others who had been in the fighter jets with her. Jayson Rivera, Nova Dexter, Leanne Vasces, Walter Triston, and Landon Frazier. They were all very welcoming people. Only Nova and Landon were accompanying us with Arianne. They said it was for security measures, which we completely understood. We have had experience with traitors.

I hung close to Felix, who had become quiet ever since the tour started. It was mostly Changbin and Sammie talking Arianne's ear off.

"Hey, Felix. You doing alright?" I placed my hand on his shoulder. He sighed heavily, glancing over his shoulder towards me.

"I'm still shaken up about Bangchan. And Cat's death. . .it's all a lot more than I thought I signed up for. I mean, Cat told us to prepare for death and such, but I didn't think that she. . " He trailed off, tears forming in his eyes.

It dawned on me at that moment that Felix had feelings for her. I had always assumed that he was very fond of her, mostly because he stuck around her most of the time. He reminded me of one of those lap dogs that follows their owner around 24/7.

I didn't know what to say. He composed himself before speaking again. "When I signed up for this job, I was mostly doing it to form bonds. I've always been alone. My parents abandoned me at a young age. I lived with my uncle for a while, but he sold me for a box of cigars." Felix's voice was bitter.

"I ran away from the men who had bought me from my uncle. I lived off of fast food restaurant garbage bins and a nice boy who would visit every so often to get a story out of me." Felix shook his head slowly, "then she came along. I remember she was carrying an umbrella. She held it over me and said, 'I can help you. I can give you a purpose.' It was like an angel had come down from heaven and blessed me with a second chance to be worth something. . ."

I watched Felix's facial expressions. There was a melancholic smile on his face. His eyes were red and his cheeks were becoming slightly blotchy from holding back his tears. "She helped me train, and had me meet the others. I helped recruit Jeongin and Hyunjin. . .oh god those boys were difficult," Felix chuckled a little, "It took forever to catch them. Jeongin throws a good punch you know. I had a black eye for about a week after. He wouldn't stop apologizing after though. He's a good kid. Very fond of you. . ." I tilted my head.

"Of me? He did ask for my number when I first met you guys. . .I assumed it was just friendly banter." Felix gave me a watery smile.

"Since you've been there he wont stop talking about you. Goes on and on about your beauty and personality. He isn't wrong either. Your a great woman, (Y/N). We are very grateful we. . well, kidnapped you." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

I nudged him slightly, grinning. "Well, I'm glad you guys caught me as well. I'd probably still be working for a monster if you hadn't gotten me sooner!"

"Alright, rag tag bunch! This is where the techies work! Don't tough anything! It's not that it's fragile, it just might attack you!" Arianne laughed, her eyes gleaming mischievously.

We followed her into the building. I was slightly overwhelmed by the sound of computer keys tapping and machinery whirring. I saw a group of techies wearing helmets and testing out what looked like a humanoid robot. The machine caught me staring, lifting up its hand and waving at me robotically. I waved back awkwardly, sticking close to Felix's side.
