You sat on the park bench watching Allen play with some of the local kids of (town name).

"Hey, miss? Would you play with us?" A little girl asked.

"Sure." You smiled. The girl led you over to the rest of the kids and Allen.

You all laughed and played, skipping, dancing and cheering. Allen stopped, his eye activated.

"Allen..." You looked over to where Allen was looking. A man was shaking violently.

"Kids! Get behind us!" The white haired exorcist yelled, activating his arm. You activated your innocence too.

The two of you stood in front of the kids as the Akuma burst out of it's human skin. It darts forth, Allen holding his arm out to brace the impact. Allen is thrown back.

"Allen!" You yell.

"I'm fine! Protect the children!"

You rush the Akuma with a successful blow. But your work wasn't done. As the dazed contortion lingered, you took advantage as to finish it. Saying a quiet prayer for the soul trapped inside, the finishing blow was given.

You turned to the kids, panting.

"Are you- Are you o-okay?" You asked them. They nodded. Your vision began to blur.

"(Y/N)!" Allen yelled.

----------------------------------------

You woke up in a blinding white room, on a bed of sorts.

"You're awake." A voice came from beside you.

"Allen... What happened?"

"Your emotions made your sync with your innocence rise. Your body couldn't quite handle it."

"...Oh."

"Do you really care for me that much? I'm not-"

"Yes, Allen. I do."

A familiar red head came into the room, the five kids from earlier in persuit.

"Miss, are you okay?" A boy no older than five asked, mis-pronouncing his 'r' adorably.

"Of course I am." You smiled and nodded.

"She's just getting old." Lavi teased, although he was older than you. The kids glared at him, making him sweatdrop.

"I-I-I didn't mean it!" He claimed shakily before running, little people hot on his tail. Allen laughed.

"They're cute." He said, you nodding in agreement.

"...I meant it."

"Meant what?"

"That I care."

"Oh... I care for you, too... Not just as a friend, or a family member... Something else." He mumbled.

"Eh? I didn't hear you..."

"I care for yo- No. I love you. More than anything, or anyone."

You blushed lightly. "Allen, I-I love you too, but-"

"But what?" He drew closer.

"Our lives, what we do. We can't." You began to sob.

Allen laid next to you on the hospital bed, pulling you close.

"Look, as long as we're together, there's still hope. There always is." He kissed your forehead and wiped away the tears.
