▪ Chapter 13 ▪

Unexpected acquaintances

Rui ate her breakfast or dinner at this point and got ready to leave for school.
She was waiting by the entrance, alone in deep thoughts.
'It's gonna start soon... the awakening or something.' Her eyebrows knitted together as she kept thinking. 'This is troublesome... I don't know exactly when it's gonna happen but it's soon. Too bad that this anime didn't give out exact dates.'

Rui closed her eyes and took a deep breath to clear her head.
"I see, you're here early."
A deep soothing voice directed to Rui.
Rui opened her eyes and directly saw who the person was, her icy blue eyes met a deep rudy red eyes.
'Reiji, I knew it.' She thought and greeted him.
"Greetings Reiji-san. I happened to finish preparing early so I'm here."

Reiji gave the girl a cold stare for moment and gave her an approving smile that is nor warm or cold.
"It's good to know that some people in this house are responsible and mature."
He said and looked down at her.

'He smiled.' She couldn't help but stare, this rare smile doesn't happen a lot, that's for sure. 'Atleast he knows how to smile for things that are not bad and of course I'd be like that, I mean I'm not actually a child.'
"I'll take that as compliment, thank you." Rui said to Reiji.

The momentary smile that lasted for 2 seconds was already long gone. His face was back to his usual strict and stoic expression. He pushed up his glass as he commented on what the girl said.
"Take it as whatever you want. I was just merely stating. Also it's rude to keep quiet and listen to others conversations."
He said and threw a cold glance to his behind.

"Mind your own business, Reiji. Your conversation wasn't even interesting anyways." Said the certian red head and then walked past Reiji and leaned on the wall near by.
Ayato stared at Rui quietly without speaking, even tho the girl noticed it, she just decided to ignore it.
Soon enough, the rest appeared one by one.

"Rui, did you rest well?" Yui gave a kind smile to Rui while patting her fluffy pink hair.
The pinkette gave a quick nod to Yui, which looked adorable to the older girl so she couldn't help but giggle.
"Hmm? Did you grow taller?" Yui said as she stared a little suprised at the little one.
"Did I?" Rui said as she looked at her sister. 'I didn't notice it but I did get taller.' She thought as she looked at her legs and arms.

"Hmm. Now that I think about it, she's pretty tall for a 10 year old." Ayato said as he sized up Rui.
Rui glanced at Ayato then Yui. 'I guess it is true, I'm pretty bigger than when I first met Yui. My growth is really something.' The pinkette thought.

"Apparently she is~" Laito appeared behind Rui and petted her head while giving her, his signature smile.
Rui made eye contact with the mischievous guy but said nothing.
'I think I'm almost getting used to him patting and getting close to me... this isn't good.'
Rui frowned slightly at herself.
Laito seemed to notice it and his smile deepened as he stared at her face. The slightest change of expression on Rui's face seemed to almost amuse Laito.

"It's time, let's go." Reiji said out loud and walked towards the door. Yui took Rui's hand quickly and went after Reiji. Laito stood in his place without moving until the girls were 3 or 4 steps away from him. The guys went after Reiji one after another to the entrance, when they were near the door, a butler appeared and opened the door for them.

Black limo was already waiting out side as usual. Everyone entered and the same quiet ride happened as always with a few slight clash between the brothers.
When they reached the school, everyone went their own way. Yui was the last to go. "Have a good day Rui" she said and gave a peck on the little girls forehead and ran after Kanato and Subaru as they were having the same class.
