Ares woke up with a headache and when his eyes opened he saw a stone ceiling. He got up startled and confused, Where am I?! His head hurt from getting up too fast and he saw that he was on the dusty ground and right smack on front of him was iron bars. Great, He rolled his eyes, I'm in jail. He just flopped on the ground and thought, Figures. He saw two men discussing something with the jail keeper and the jail keeper gave them money. He craned his neck, trying to hear their conversation.
"Here you go." The jailer counted two more gold coins and put them in their hands, "Your reward."
The fatter man grunted, "We could have gotten more from Firion himself for capturing the King!"
"Shut up," The Jail keeper snapped, "or else you both are going to be locked up in that cell with the King." The men silenced but still gave him glowering glares. "So what's going to happen to him?" Another guard came by as the men left.
"Who knows?" The Jail keeper laughed darkly, "I heard the King plans to use him for entertainment at the gala tomorrow." The guard chuckled but then grew serious, "But how will he be able to turn in his prize, dead?"
"The King doesn't care." The Jail keeper rolled his eyes, "I tried to convince him money was better than pleasure, but the King is stubborn. He still insists to toy around with his prize."
"It's risky." The guard whistled and then met Ares gaze, he smiled evilly, and then walked away. Ares heart raced, what did he mean that the King was going to use him for entertainment at the gala tomorrow?" He bit his lip and sat down trying to think. He looked around the jail cell around him and wondered how he could get out. He pushed on the wall, he examined every corner, and sat down defeated. He'd have to stay here and have to find out what kind of entertaining he would have to do for the King. Whatever it was, he shuddered. He felt something thrown at his face and a bread bounced onto his hands. It was old and crusty, it was so old it looked blue.
"Eat up." The Jailer mocked, "you'll need it tomorrow for the gala." Ares just glared as the Jailer let out a long laugh and then walked away. He shook his head and threw the bread out the tiny window and he heard some prisoners mutter, "A waste." Or, "That could have been mine." He exhaled a long time as he sunk down to the ground, feeling tired. He decided to rest and save every ounce of energy he had for whatever this gala was going to be tomorrow. His stomach and heart sank as he sighed. Instead of getting closer to Riley, he was getting only farther and farther.
How would he be able to save her in time before whatever Firion had planned was carried out? The hourglass was running out and here he was helpless in this jail cell. But he decided with a grumble that he needed the rest in order to face tomorrow. He tried to sleep but what the guard said made shivers go down his spine, But how will he turn in his prize, dead? He wasn't sure what was going to go on tomorrow, but all he knew was that it wasn't going to be good.

Maddie was so heartbroken that she couldn't even focus. She kept thinking about Riley and how she had betrayed her! She wanted to go back in time to the times where they were all together: Riley, Ares, Natsu, Ares, herself and of course poor Rose. Why did Rose have to die? Why? Rose was her best friend. Riley was her best friend. But they were both not any longer. One was dead and the other switched sides. Now she only had Ares, Natsu, Clover and Owen, but she had no clue where any of them were. Why did she separate from Natsu and Ares anyway? She should have convinced Owen and Clover to stay, so they didn't have to leave.
Her heart felt like it was in pieces and she struggled to put the pieces in the right places. Most likely, because she didn't have them all. Maddie had ran out of tears hours ago, but she still sat there where Riley had left her. She didn't want to move, but she knew she needed to stop feeling sorry for herself and get up. Owen and Clover were captured and she was sitting about feeling sorry for her stupid self. Why was she stupid enough to believe that she could change Riley? Riley was gone forever along with Rose! I think I can fix everything, but I just ruin it all. Maybe if I hadn't confronted Riley then I could have pretended we were still friends. But she had to face reality. It had all happened.
