Chapter Ten

Sophia strolled through the castle halls as they took down the blue flags of Ares symbol of a phoenix and replaced them with black and red ones with Firion's lion symbol. Dozens of servants flocked her as she gave orders, "Tell the cook I am going to have a party tonight as a cheers for my fiancé. I want a beautiful silver gown done by miday and all the halls decorated. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, your majesty." They all replied and scurried away. She then took a left into the throne room. She leaned against the door and gazed at the thrones, imagining Firion and herself there one day. She then went up to the platform overlooking the officials discussing different matters. She then dusted off Ares throne and sat there comfortably.

She sighed and laughed, it echoed in the room, "Glorious!" The officials turned to look at her, a bit annoyed, and then turned back to talk. Finally, the main leader hushed them and then walked up to the platform and put his hands on his hips. She smirked and said in an annoying voice, "Well, aren't you going to bow, official, after all I am going to be your next queen-." He interrupted her, "We never got orders from Ares about placing you as queen."

Sophia frowned and got up from her throne, looking down at him, "Are you saying...That I'm a liar?"

"No, I am just saying that we never got orders from the King-" This time she interrupted him, "Ares never mentioned it, because he is stupid, we have been engaged for a while now." Her voice got louder, "And he gave me orders to rule while he was gone, do I make myself clear, Official..." Her icy voice said.

He just glared at her and he managed to choke out, "Yes, your majesty."

"So my orders are, kill anyone who is trying to conspire against me, arrest Queen Victoria, throw her in jail, and keep her there until I say what is to happen to her. And stay out of my way. Is that crystal clear?" She said in his face.

"Yes, your majesty." He said reluctantly. He then swallowed, taking a step back, and bowed. After the bow, he rose up, called together a small army and they went to carry out Sophia's orders.

Sophia smirked and sat down on her throne again, laughing, and saying, "Death to the Warrior and His Star."

Clover and Maddie followed the men back to the village where they placed Owen in a cage. Owen stared down at his feet and didn't say a word to the men who taunted him. "Hey, kid. Look at me." A man say to him hitting the cage with his hand. Owen looked up and the man chuckled, "You are going to make me a lot of money. Too bad your friends got away. I could get even more money." Owen crossed his arms, "Money. Money. Money. Is that all men care about these days?" The man didn't reply as he stared at Owen and left. Maddie and Clover went over to the cage. It was in the middle of town and everyone could see it, so Maddie didn't risk turning visible.

"Owen, I'll get you out of here." Maddie whispered. Owen looked around confused and Clover said, "We're invisible, Owen." He nodded and whispered, "How?" Maddie sighed, thinking, "Uh, when they are distracted..." Owen whispered back, "Whenever that is. I still need a map to get Todmorden..." Two men approached the cage, smiling brightly, "We have sent a message to Firion that we have you. Soon we will get our money." They began to unlock the cage and Owen stared at them.

"Get out!" One snapped. Owen rolled his eyes, "You are such a nice man." The man grabbed him by the collar and pulled him out of the cage, "Thanks." He pushed Owen to the ground and the other man laughed. Maddie and Clover stared, mouths' wide open. Clover almost screamed and started hitting the man, but Maddie quickly grabbed her. That's when they noticed the crowd of people watching, some people pointing and laughing. The man who dragged Owen began to speak in a big loud voice, "This is the kid with the bounty of his head and he is going to make me rich!"
