Chapter 2

Meet Cole, son of the Beast and Belle. Pretty eyes, killer mane. You can see the resemblance. Anyway Cole started the whole thing with his big idea one day. . . .

In the castle of Belle and the Beast, their son, Cole, kept gazing out the window. Even from way the sparkling blue sea, Cole could see the magical barrier flickering and shimmering over the Isle Of The Lost. It was so pretty, that far-off of exiled prisoners. . . but Cole couldn't help feeling sad at the sight of it.

The royal tailor was fitting Cole into his blue coronation suit, jotting Cole's measurements down on a notepad, when Ariana and Luke strolled into the room.

Luke: "How is it possible that you're going to be crowned king next month? You're just a baby."

Ariana: "He's turning twenty dear."

Cole: "Hey, Pops."

Luke: "Twenty? That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least . . . forty-two."

Ariana: "Uh, you decided to marry me at twenty-eight."

Luke: "It was either you or a teapot. Kidding."

Cole: "Mom, Dad. I've chosen my first official proclamation."

Luke and Ariana looked at each other and smiled.

Cole: "I've decided that the children of the Isle Of The Lost should be given a chance . . . to live here in Auradon. Every time I look out at the island, I feel like they've been abandoned."

Luke: "The children of our sworn enemies? Living among us?"

Cole: "We start out with a few at first—only ones who need our help the most I've already chosen them."

Luke: "Have you?"

Ariana: "I gave you a second chance. Who are their parents?"

Cole: "Zayn, Louis, Bradley . . . and Anne."

Luke: "Anne? She is the worst villain in the land!"

Cole: "Dad, just hear me out here!"

Luke: "I won't hear of it! They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!"

Cole: "But their children are innocent. Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad."

Luke: "I suppose the children are innocent."

Ha!
