It's mid September and Carrie 38 weeks pregnant. They have decided on names. They rolled the dice on Mackenzie Marie. They both agree, and they set up the nursery. Chase let town for Richmond, Saturday night racing. Chase has been calmed and very supportive since her pregnancy. They are both scared and exciting too. Last week was her last day doing the weather, Her doctor do not want me to work anymore, and have her to put on bed rest until she comes. Her feet are severely swollen, and she recommended bed rest, she give my boss a doctor's note until she return week of December. Chase been very supportive and been trying to take care of me while he's home most of the day before hitting the road race, after race. He will be home on Saturday night.
Chase is just worried about my girl who is 38 weeks pregnant and he's worry about what if she's going into labor , while I'm racing, or on my way home. Have not slept at all. Her doctor grounded her, she's not allow to drive, go to work and be on bed rest all day until my daughter comes. It's race night, after I finish 3rd and did interviews with MRN & NASCAR on NBC, I went home to see my girl. Before I did that I stop at victory lane to say congrats to my teammate winning the race. I stop to sign some autographs, then I went home.
Carrie's pov:
It's 10:02pm, I went to bed, Chase finish 3rd, and Jimmie won the race. I'm very tired, and so sore. The doctor said that I'm ready, and it's whenever she comes. I decided to sleep.
Chase pov:
It's 1:42am and I decided to get ready for bed, and get some sleep. Nope not gonna happen. Carrie woke up at 12:48am with some sharp pains. At 1:34am her water broke. I rush to her side, the bags been already in my car, same with the car seat. It's so painful that tears started flooded. I drove fast as I can. Got to the hospital at 2:18am. Found out that she's dilated 3 centimeters and still in pain. I hold her hand, and she squeeze it hard. I wipe the tears out her face. The pain it was so bad, kicking and screaming for like 13 hours. It's 5:33am, I hold her hand and give her a back rub. Its 8:32am and she was ready to push. While she was pushing, I hold her hand, sat on the hospital bed, with my hand against her back for support. At 8:48am, here she comes. Mackenzie Marie Elliott. Carrie's face was priceless. After both of us cut the umbilical cord, I started crying. I kissed my newborn baby's cheek, then I kissed my wife's cheek before the nurse weighted and swaddle her. Got there, to take some pictures, she grab my finger and hold it tight until the nurse picked her up and swaddle her to give to Carrie. She was born with a lot of hair, and looks like her mother. "Hi, I'm your mommy." While the nurse give Mackenzie , to Carrie I was on her side, have my arm around Carrie, and I rub Mackenzie's forehead. She weighted 7 pounds 8 ounces and 24 inches long. "Look Chase, her teeny tiny arms, and her cute chubby cheeks." " she's beautiful, just like you. " "You wanna hold her?" "Hey sweetie i'm your dada and dada's gonna be right here with you and your mommy, ok." I hold Mackenzie and I kissed her forehead. She looks just like her mother. My mom and my dad came to see their granddaughter. Everybody came and holding her even Ryan and Bubba. After everybody left for visiting hours, she started to breastfed her both of us began to have our dinner. My mom was nice enough to bring us some food instead of hospital food. "Wah wah wah." "dada's coming sweetie sshhh ssshh don't wake mommy up, oh someone is hungry, here dada will feed you." After i fed and burp Mackenzie she fell asleep in my arms. My wife did fell asleep and it was around 9:12pm. 1st night i held her in my arms until it was around 11pm. She did slept until 6:09am. "Good morning sweetie, sshhh let's not let daddy up, here you must be hungry."
