Eye's of Kai:

I put a smile on my face and sucked up my tears as I seen my mom's number pop across the Bluetooth screen of my car.
She can't know what I'm going through, no one can!
I have to put my troubles behind me and be strong for everybody around me..
I took a deep breath looking myself in the rear view mirror.
Get it together Kai, ma can sense when something is wrong.

"Hey ma!"

"My baby girl, I haven't talked to you in years child!"

"I literally just talked to you yesterday morning ma."
I said with a faint side ways smirk..

"Exactly YEARS!"
I rolled my eyes
"Roll um AGAIN!"

"I did no such thing of the sort.."
I said with a small sneaky giggle

"Yeah okay so when are you coming home or can I come see you?
I miss you and so does your father!
You know you are our only baby girl.."

"I know, I really miss you and Daddy both.."
I sighed looking at my engagement ring..
"But I can't me and DJ are going on that business trip for his job and he wants me on his hip to show face."

There was an awkward silence..
"Hmm okay I'll call you back later.."

"Ma! I'm sorry, it's just I.. I'm"
I wanted to tell her what I had been going through I tried not to let the tears fall.
I wanted to tell her all the abuse and torment I had been facing..
I wanted all the pain to cease, I hoped that beyond a shadow of a doubt she could read in between the lines..

"It's okay, you're busy and you have your own life with your fiancé..
Me and your dad will catch up with you sooner than you think.
I love you baby girl!"

"I love you more mommy.."

"Okay baby talk to you later."
With that said she just hung up..
Leaving me in my own mess.
And here that damn phone goes again..
I pulled out off my office building dreadfully being faced with New York city traffic once again.
It was my fiance DJ calling.
As soon as I realized that I picked up without hesitation.
"Hey honey."

"Yeah okay what took you so long to answer the damn phone, that I pay for!"

"I'm sorry baby I was on the phone with my mom and I'm just pulling out of the job.."

"What does that have to do with me, I'm your man and when I call you pick up.."

"I already barley get to talk to my mom and dad an when I do.."

He interrupted with a long sigh..
"Look! I'm sorry for going off on you. Just get home safely in one piece okay!"

"Okay baby, do you want me to stop and pick you up some food or would you rather me cook?"

"Um no I uh.. I actually got some dinner with a good colleague of mine. But you don't wanna put on any weight, you're already big enough just skip out on dinner tonight and come home I need a back rub."
