Adi's POV

I walk around the garden trying to make sense of what just happened, Anthony left. He left and it's only been his first day of being my assistant, I'm not that bad. But then again, we did kiss and it was a good kiss too. Not like a kiss you give your second grade crush, this was a kiss you give your lover. I guess he got shy

I put my AirPods in and begin my run up and down the castle stairs. My journey extends into the fields near the track where the soldiers of the royal guard train. I finally got to the stable, I'm here to visit my faithful stallion, O'Neil.

"You know that I have to" a sad Sargent claimed, known as Michael rosillo

"No you can't, I'll order to cancel the mission" another voice said serious, one I could only match with my brother's

"I've prepared for years to protect you and the whole country this is my job" Michael stated

"They don't matter, you're risking your life" why does he care so much?

"Yeah but I have to- no no you can't... Michael because if you don't come back, I swear... what'll I do?" His tone more panicked

"Continue, there's no reason for you to look for me. We both have important roles to play, they may keep us from being together but we have to fulfill them, this isn't just about you and me" the guard responds trying to bring Tal to his senses

"It's not fair that we have put everything aside for... all these people who'll never know we sacrificed our love, so they could live happily" Aww that's how I feel, he understands me.

"A love we knew wouldn't last, Tal this is practically illegal. It's completely illicit, they would've separated us either way" Michael says truthfully, referring to them as my parents, the citizens and all the people out there, who see our preferences as a crime.

"I love it when you say my name, how could something so fragile and dangerous make me feel safe, when we're together I can be free, far from them and their judgement!" Wow. I've never seen this side of Tal, he's got some deep feelings just like me!

I should leave before they see me and get the wrong idea, I walk around to the back door to get O'Neil.

Tal's POV

Michael is right, we can't stay together for much longer without being caught. As soon as that happens we'll be ripped apart

"I know" Michael answers quietly "I love you too. I've only ever felt this happy with you"

"Then listen to me, stay. We'll figure something out later" I argue my words becoming more shaky "I don't want to imagine myself in this lonely palace without you"

"I promise I'll think of something when I come back" he reassures, but the fact that he may not return troubles my heart

"Fine... but you have to come back to me"

"I will" Michael whispers leaning forward to kiss me. Gently and rushed, fear still lingering in the back of our minds, we've always had that worry present in all of our meetings.

"I'll meet you here at midnight" I remind him as after we pull away "I have to go now, love you"

Michael's POV

"I love you so much more"  I watch as he walks further and further
"Bye Tal" I say to myself, knowing this is the last time I'll ever get to see him.

The lump in my throat tightens just thinking about it. I promised that no dumb ass was going to hurt him, this'll hurt both of us. The sooner he forgets about me, the sooner he can live his own life. A life without me, a new, good life without worries and he'll rule this country. He'll be a great king

One day he'll thank me for leaving, for allowing him to go on. Besides We were both aware that...

This could have only ended in tears

Tal's POV

He's really late, this isn't like him. I'll wait till he arrives it shouldn't be too long now. He's only testing my love...
