Calvin had been at work for a few hours and, although he'd been dreading working with the new apprentice, he admittedly liked Andrew Henderson more than he had anticipated. Drew (as he liked to be known) was short in stature but had a stocky build for a young lad. He had long black hair held in place by a red bandana and was kept neat by a hair tie at the back. He had a chubby face and olive coloured eyes. Cal read in his file that Drew suffered from ADHD, learning difficulties and epilepsy so was impressed with the way he showed enthusiasm and how he jumped straight into any task laid out before him. To be honest, Cal didn't see a trace of his conditions at all. However, it didn't mean that an outburst couldn't happen at any time.
The pair had been given a new car to work - it was a mess! The owner had been in an accident so it was Cal and Drew's job to completely replace both major components AND bodywork. Calvin thought he would test the knowledge of his young comrade, to see how bright the young lad was, "ok follow me, Drew, we have a new car that has just come in. And of course you know, it's our job to fix it," Cal smiled, then escorted Drew to the dying vehicle, "here she is." Cal tapped the roof of the silver Mercedes.
"What a mess! Such a beauty too," Drew uttered.
"Yep its a shame alright, but we will get this baby up and running again. That's a promise. What I want you to tell me is the first thing we need to do."
"Erm... I guess we need to check the extent of the damage. I mean the driver obviously was in an accident, the body is a fucked up." Immediately, Drews chubby face lit up into a pink colour after he realised what he had said? He swire in front of his boss?! Big mistake... Or so he thought. Calvin made the most tremendous grin on his face which turned into a booming laugh capable of create an earthquake or erupting a volcano. "I'm so sorry Cal it just slipped out!"
Cal laughed even more, "that's what she said."
At that point, Drew started to chuckle too. Thank God my boss was making a joke he internally thought as a wave of relief swept over his whole body.
Finally calming down, Calvin punched his chest, "wow the look on yer face Drew. It's ok we all swear here. It's not new," Cal sighed breathlessly. He regained composure and continued, "so apart from the fucked bodywork what else can you see?"
"Well, just from looking at it externally I think every component needs replacing. Particularly on the left side. It also needs new wheels," Drew explained as he walked around the vehicle, "We could try to salvage some components such as the alternator but we definitely need to change the belt."
"Impressive," Cal replied while running his fingers through his beard, "so where do we start?"

It was the weekend and I was sat on my bed with Leila while Keira was jumping around the chaos which was my bedroom. She was apparently dancing to the music that was roaring from my stereo. How she didn't fall over anything, I had no idea. And where did she keep all that energy?
Keira eventually ran out of steam and joined us on the bed, "so what do you think?" She beamed.
"Utter shite!" Leila remarked, quite aggressively. I didn't think that it was a necessary reaction, but I was just getting to know these lasses. It may just have been her personality. I peered over to Keira who pulled a very rare disappointed face.
"'Bout what?" I asked Keira who, as soon as I acknowledged her, shone her radiant smile once more. I had to admit, her smile had turned from creepy to infectious. I smiled back, it seemed I couldn't help myself.
"About the Halloween party of course!"
"Oh," Leila laughed, while me and Keira looked at each other confused, "I thought you meant the dancing. The party will be awesome."
