It was another cold Monday morning. The wind was fierce as it threw brown leaves across the atmosphere. I had set off to walk to cool with my sisters until I met up with Keira and Leila. As usual, Keira wore her bangles around one wrist. Her school jumper sleeves were lifted up, so her bare skin was showing from the elbow down. Leila had her jumper around her waist so she only had her shirt on. Jesus girl, it wasn't that warm. Wasn't warm at all.

Walking to school on a morning was usually a dull experience, even with Keira chuckling away. But that morning, my mind was elsewhere. I couldn't get the image of that fair-haired beauty I bumped into out of my head. What the fuck was wrong with me? I had never felt an instant connection to anybody, especially a lad!

I could still make out the lads voice ringing in my ears. He had startled me with the way he was screaming at me, "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" He had shouted in an amazing American accent. He had a good reason to be yelling I suppose, I did crack his leg pretty hard. I was stunned into silence myself, but not because he was having a go, it was because I was mesmerised by his eyes. It was like I could see a whole different universe in them. Oh God, I needed to snap out of it. Stop thinking about the white-haired stunner. It's not like I was going to see him again.

Straining to listen, I heard Keira chattering away with the random murmurs of Leila's responses, but I couldn't focus on the conversation. Her words seemed to be a million miles away.

"Earth to Lexi," Keira called out, her face suddenly appearing in my vision, "are you ok? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"... erm yeah im... Fine," I shakily replied. Oh, come on lass, get a hold of yourself!

"You sure? I mean you're paler than usual."

"Yeah of course... I'm good." I gave her a reassuring smile but her eyes narrowed as if she was trying to figure something out. What must be been seconds felt like hours as Keira stared into my soul. She gave me a satisfied grin as wide as the ocean before placing herself between me and Leila. What the fuck?

"Oooh I know what's going on," she assumed, "it's that guy."

Huh? How? "What you talking about? What guy?"

"Erm, the one we bumped into Saturday night. The sexy god-like one. The one with the gorgeous accent. The one you couldn't take your eyes off."

"Ok ok, we get the picture Kiz and, for your information, I was looking at him cuz he was talking." I was such a terrible liar. I didn't want to feel the way I did after one God damn meeting but there I was almost fantasizing over that fucking American lad!

"Yeah alright, Lex we believe you," Keira teased, "don't we Lei?"

Leila, who had kept quiet throughout the discussion, simply shrugged her shoulders then carried on walking. She wasn't a big talker anyway, but she was being TOO quiet. I wondered why but decided not to ask. There was no point dwelling on it, it could be something personal.

The three of us continued to stroll to school at a snail's pace. I guessed none of us really liked the place. We passed several groups of school kids just outside the gate. One of which was a group of lasses who instantly closed their mouths as we strolled past. "Oh look it's the emo parade," mumbled a blonde-haired lass as we passed, "I thought the sunlight would have vanquished them by now." I was pretty sure it was the same one I saw glaring through the car window on the first day of school. A sense of pride ran through my veins, I knew she would be a twat, I was a good judge of character.

From the left of me I heard Leila speak, "don't say it, don't say it." Odd. I peered over to Keira who looked like she was about to let rip. Her usual happy face turned sour and she had a neon pink glow on her cheeks. She must really hate the blonde bitch.
