Now, while some people were being introduced to half-giant men, I did not need to worry about such things. I had received my letter and was preparing for going to school, although I had not yet recieved my books.

At this stage, my parents were constantly reminding me that they were going to be introducing me to my 'guardians' at Hogwarts, Victor Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. They sounded like a pair of bumbling idiots - and what do you know? That's exactly how they turned out.

"Don't go anywhere without them, keep on the caretaker's good side, don't annoy the ghosts, especially not the Bloody Baron, our house ghost. That clear?" demanded Father.

"Yes, Father. I will be cautious."

"And don't forget, Draco - that Potter boy will be as arrogant as anything, so either become friends and influence him to be a better person or become enemies and you don't have to worry about any of that," he reminded me. I had already decided to try the 'friends route'.

"Now, the house-elf should be back with your items any minute now. Then we can get you a wand-fitting."

In a couple of minutes, Dobby arrived. "Here, Master! Here are Master Malfoy's books. Dobby has made sure they are not broken! Wand - fitting is ready, Master!" he exclaimed. We Apparated to the wand-fitting place, with some boring name I couldn't remember.
