Back to Basics

Kaidesuki turned to Kai, quickly grabbing him and jumping away.

"Put me down." Kai said, his tattoos slowly fading.

"I will, let's just gain some ground away from Norideel, then we can talk."

A few minutes later Kaidesuki set Kai down, his tattoos now faded and his eyes returning to their normal color.

"Jeez, why didn't you use that speed when the two of us were fighting?" Kai said, realizing how far they made it from Norideel in such short time.

"I could ask you the same." Kaidesuki laughed, "That was one hell of a fight, wouldn't expect anything less from your level of combat expertise." Kaidesuki said, landing a playful blow on Kai's arm.

"Was that a compliment?" Kai laughed, acting surprised.

"Don't let it go to your head asshole."

The man Kai had seen standing in front of Sam landed next to them. Sam lay unconscious in his arms.

"Idiot," Kai spoke, "Always pushing yourself too hard."

"Luc, how you holding up? Haven't seen you since Rose locked you on Mars" Kaidesuki said with a grin on his face.

"Oh ya know, same old same old. Eating souls, killing humans, that kinda stuff." They both laughed as the guy Kaidesuki called Luc set Sam on the ground.

After setting Sam down, he turned to Kai, holding his hand out.

"Names Lucifer, but you can call me Luc."

"Lucifer as in god of the underworld? That kinda Lucifer" Kai said, shaking Lucifer's hand.

"Well, I don't own hell yet, but who knows I guess." he says, shrugging his shoulders

Kai laughed a confused laugh as Luc and Desuki grinned.

"Say," Kai starts, "Where's Suki? Haven't seen her in a while."

"She doesn't really like fighting, so she usually leaves before one starts." Desuki says, "But she's impressed, I could tell she was. You're really strong for having just started, only Luc and I are able to stand toe to toe with Norideel, let alone make him use that much power.

"Hey, Desuki," Lucifer speaks up, "Its kinds funny that our souls were chosen by theirs isn't it? Considering they too are also like family to one another."

"Now that you mention it Luc, that is kinda weird. They have a strong connection, did you see the power change once they got close to each other? Its just like us."

"Yeah, and the way the whites of their eyes changed to black was exactly like ours."

Kai took a seat on a nearby rock as Luc and Desuki discussed the situation. Not more than a few moments later, they walked over. Luc had Sam strung over his shoulder.

"Alright Kai, let's get outta here before Norideel happens to stumble on us, we can hang at my house for a bit." Lucifer said, scratching the top of his head.

Kai rose and stretched

"Lead the way."

Desuki and Luc grinned as the three of them ran. About half an hour later, the three of them arrived at what seemed to be an endless abyss, nothing in either direction.

 "Whats this?" Kai spoke, seemingly confused.

 "This, my soul bearer, is the one and only battle ground of your good pal Lucifer and I."

"Battle ground?" He spoke again, "Battle ground for what?"

"Good question," Lucifer jumps in, "I lost my mind say, 10000 or so years ago, and Desuki being the only one on par with me at the time, fought me for a few hundred years, which created this hole."

"Oh, fun." Kai finishes with a nod.

"Anyways, Its also my house, so, welcome." Lucifer grins, standing next to the edge, dropping Sams body into the hole, and falling in backwards.

"Pick up the pace, asshole." Desuki says before doing a back flip into the hole. 

"Good thing I'm not scared of heights." Kai says, swan diving into the hole.

Landing, Kai noticed Lucifer standing over a giant splash of what looks to be blood.

"I didn't catch him..." Lucifer says, rubbing the back of his head.

"Are you fucking kidding me?"

"Yes" Lucifer says again, pulling Sam out of his shirt.

"How do you hide someone in your shirt? How?" Kai speaks, yet again confused.

"How do you blow a hole bigger than Earth in a place like this? Stop asking questions. Shit just happens." Lucifer grins.

"Fuck you." Kai snarls

"Fuck you too."

Laughing a bit, Lucifer places his free hand on the ground, chanting a few unheard lines.

"What are y..." Kai spoke, before being interrupted by a black house appearing out of thin air.

Lucifer steps towards the door, opening it.

"After you, m'ladies."

Kai and Desuki grin sarcastically, entering the "home".

The walls of Lucifer's home were entirely white, the furniture, painting frames and beds were black.

"I have to say," Kai begins, "It has a nice contrast to it."

"Doesn't it?" An unknown voice from the couch speaks up.

"How'd you get in here, Zephon? Wait, nevermind, you have the spare spell."

The man sitting on the couch stands and faces them, a grin planted firmly on their face.

"Sam pushed himself hard enough to waste all of his essence?" The man said.

"He did, what an idiot." Lucifer laughs.

"Names Zephon," the man says, turning to Kai.

Kai shakes his hand, "I'd introduce myself, but you probably already know my name."

Zephon grins before turning towards Lucifer.

"You should take him to the spare bed, your place is rich with essence, he should wake up in an hour or two." 

"Are you stupid Zephon? Its my house, I know where to take him and how 'rich' it is in essence."

Zephon laughs and sits back down on the couch, "You're so mean to me."

"Shut up and go back to whatever you were doing."

Looking at Desuki and Kai, Lucifer gives a nod, directing them up the weird black spiral stairs to his spare bedroom.

Setting Sam down, Lucifer looks at the two again,

"Like Zephon said, he should wake up in an hour or two. You should probably sit down yourself Kai and meditate, rejuvenate the essence you lost during your fight."

"Good idea." Kai said, sitting on a nearby couch, crossing his legs and closing his eyes. Kai taught himself how to meditate, it helped ease his mind, now more so then ever."

"Let's bounce, Desuki, we have some setting up to do."
