Author's Note

I actually went to my completed books to check how I wrote these end cards slash author's note. It has honestly been too long since I've completed a book. Anyway, this book took quite a while to complete and while I'm not exactly how I feel about the overall process and the development of plot and worldbuilding, I believe that it's still quite... okay? Acceptable?

When I started, I was really excited to write a full fledged novel about Danger and come up with exciting twists and plots that would even surprise myself. Alas, this is an open novella and a 40K word limit exists. However, if my book does not make it to the very last rounds (or does not get listed as a top finalist), I might consider taking this down and turning it into something bigger, something that I think will suit it better.

The process of writing this book is really weird. Was? Is? Okay, never mind. When I started, it had elements of The Hunger Games because the plot resembles that of THG's. But, like I said, this book took me so long to write that those ideas disappeared and I drafted it according to my new interests. The Picture of Dorian Grey had a great impact towards the middle of my book, in between conversations that Lex and Vic shared.

Anyway, this book has gotten through round one and two of the 2019 Open Novella Contest and has been listed on the 2019 Ambassador's Picks Reading List so thank you, to whomever who found it good enough for selection. Wait, I should probably write it the way I write it in my other books. Here goes:

Special thanks to The Script and Chelsea Cutler plus Quinn XCII for inspiring the title of this book- 'Six Degress of Separation' and 'Flare Guns' respectively. Everyone knows that a book is nothing without a solid title.

Special thanks to Oscar Wilde for his beautiful depiction of art in 'The Picture of Dorian Grey', for it has inspired me and ideas in this book.

Last but not least, I am truly eager to see how this contest turns out. Should my book not get picked as a finalist, I will definitely think of pursuing the 50K+ novel route and work on some of the ideas that I really wanted to be integrated or fine-tuned in the book. That's all! (:

Side Note: I just wanna say that this book consists of themes and elements of murder and killing, and whether those are justifiable. Murder is a crime and is definitely not okay. Please don't get any ideas from this book, which is merely a work of fiction. What I wrote, was written with the intention to evoke thinking or consideration of certain concepts. It is NOT OKAY to kill. Yeah, this sounds super dramatic but I swear, I'm not taking any chances here.
