Teenage Dream

Chapter 4

Lena sat in her cold, sad excuse for a room. It wasn't very big. She had a small twin bed pushed into the corner of the room. She had a dresser with a few outfits a very small closet and a few bookshelves full of her favorite books. Lena may not get many things from her parents but they did appreciate the willingness to learn. Most of her books were on bioengineering and quantum physics but she has read all of them. Lena gets up and walks to the window. Her father, Lionel, was at a meeting about the LuthorCorp Gala which she was planning on inviting Kara to. But she was reluctant for Kara to meet her family. Or maybe just not her parents. She knew her parents and they would never allow their daughter to be gay. Let alone dating another woman. A knock at her bedroom door tears her mind away from her thoughts. 

"Come In" The door opens and her father appears. "Hello, Father. You're back from the meeting. Is there something you need?" Lena asks formally. He walks in a sits next to her on the bed

"Yes. As you know our family is hosting a Gala at the manor. I expect to see you with a young suitor who will one day win over your heart." Lena hesitates for a moment not wanting to ask what she was about to ask.

"Actually Father........I was wondering if I could bring a few of my friends from school." 

"And who are these friends?"He asks 

"Well we have my friend Kara Danvers and her sister Alex Danvers. And then my friend Maggie Sawyer." Lionel ponders this for a few moments before speaking. 

"Yes you may. It is good that you are making friends. At you age you should be branching out for one day you may even take over LutherCorp and you will need allies if that were to happen." 

"Lionel don't waste your breath she'll never take the company and those supposed friends won't help her." Lillian says entering the room obviously previously listening to the conversation. Lionel stands up and walks over to her.

"Lillian when it come to dealing with my daughter you'd be wise to hold your tongue." He hisses. Lionel leaves the room and Lillian leaves giving Lena a glare.

Kara and Lena sit at the table in the cafeteria telling each other about their days. Alex and Maggie join them soon followed by Winn.  

"There is no way you're gonna do it." Win says looking at Kara who is holding a bottle of hot sauce. 

"Bet." She says

"Fine but when you burn you're intestines I'm not helping you." He scoffs. Everyone at the table watches intently as Kara downs and entire bottle of hot sauce in 5 seconds. She slams the now empty bottle on the table

"Whooo that was interesting." Kara says. Lena looks over at Kara and she sees a little dribble of hot sauce on the corner of her mouth. 

"Kara you have a lil something right her." She says motioning to the corner of her lip. Kara wipes the corner of her lip. 

"Did I get it?" She asks 

"Here let me." Lena leans forward and wipes the hot sauce with her thumb her touch giving Kara goosebumps.  Kara leans in a steals a quick kiss form Lena. 

"Ugh you guys are gross." Winn says making everyone laugh. Then a tall dark haired girl approaches the table. She holds her tray in her hand and stares at us awkwardly.  

"Uh...hi..uh all the other tables were filled up do you mind if I sit here?" Everyone looks at each other and then to the girl. Alex shrugs her shoulders. 

"Eh...I don't care. Do you guys." No objects so the girl sits down at the end of the table. 

"So. What's your name?" Winn asks. All eyes turn to the girl.

"Samantha but everyone calls me Sam. I'm new here." Sam says quietly. 

"Where did you go to school before this." Kara asks looking over to Sam. 

"Oh....uh....my mom and I moved here from National City. I went to National City High." Sam says looking down. "I had a bad experience there. That's why we moved." 

"Well you're always welcome here... you seem like nice person and we're glad to have you." Kara says making Sam blush. 

"I can't wait to get to know all of you especially you." Sam says to Kara making Kara blush. Lena begins to get uncomfortable with Sam's blatant flirting.

"My name is Kara Danvers, this is my girlfriend Lena, and this is my sister Alex and her girl friend  Maggie and then there is my best friend Winn." 

"It's nice to meet all of you."  Sam says politely. The bell rings and everyone heads to their classes. Sam sits confused at what's happening. Kara pulls Lena towards Sam. 

"Do you need help finding your next class?" Kara asks. Sam lowers her head and nods in embarrassment. "Here we'll help you. Babe can you take my backpack to History?" 

"Yeah see you there." Lena says taking Kara's bag and giving her a quick kiss before she walks away down the hallway. 

"So what class do you have Sam?" Kara asks. Sam thinks for a moment before answering.

"Science." 

"Oh! Science is my favorite class!" Kara exclaims making Sam laugh. They both walk to the scirnce lab chatting and laughing. When the finally get to the lab they stop. 

"So this is your stop." Kara says laughing a little. 

"Yup. I hope i see you again." Sam says blushing a little. Kara laughs,

"Me too. Now you should get to class, wouldnt want you getting detention now would we." 

"That would be problematic." 

"Bye" Kara says as she walks away. And Sam just waves and watches her as she walks away. Kara uses her super speed to get her class. She slowly opens the door and sneaks to the table in the back where Lena and Winn are sitting.m

"Ms. Danvers. Nice of you to join us." The teacher announces. 

"Uh...sorry Mr. Birch i was just helping a new student get to class." He nods.

"Yes well, you can ask one of your peers to help you catch up." Kara turns to Lena but she shruggs her shoulders. Winn leans close to her ear.

"We are starting the next chapter its on the French Revolution." He whispers. 

"Thanks." She whispers back. Kara looks at Lena who has been distant since she got back from showing Sam to her class. She can only hope that nothimg is going on.
