Miss Jury

Joes POV
I trudged into form dragging my heels.
"Morning Joseph" Miss Jury said smiling at me
"Hello Miss" I said yawning
"Tired?" She questioned
"Just a bit" I replied sitting down. Five minutes passed as the rest of the form came in, halfway through the register there was a knock at the door and Miss Jury answered it. I moved my head to see who it was only to find this girl walking towards my table.
"Are you Joe?" She whispers
"Yes" I reply pulling her chair out for her
"Thank you, I'm Dianne, nice to meet you"
"You too" I smile weakly before turning back to my book not actually reading it.

Dianne's POV
When I got here I'm gonna admit I wasn't too sure about this place but Miss Jury is nice and Joe seems decent I guess. The way his perfect hair falls onto his perfect forehead and his beautiful blue eyes shimmer in the light. Dianne stop! Jeez you've not even talked to him yet!
Anyway before I was so rudely interrupted by myself i really want to see what this school has to offer, back in Australia everything was so different, we didn't have tutor time, our school days were shorter with only forty five minute periods and an hours lunch, but here it's hour long periods and half an hours lunch which for me is unfortunate because I don't eat very quickly, we didn't have free periods either.
"Hey where's M2?" I whisper to Joe beside me
"This is M2" he replies
"Okay so I will have Miss Jury for math right?" I ask
"Yes, let me see your timetable" he says quietly and I slide it across the table to him
"Hmm same English, Science, French, Computing, Maths, Drama and Free Periods as me, we have Drama third so come with me and I will show you to our common room, that's basically the room we spend our free periods in unless we want to watch the people doing PE" he told me
"Okay a lot to take in for my tiny brain but that's okay, I'll manage" i say sarcastically earning a small chuckle from him. The bell rang and I stayed in my seat beside Joe waiting for Miss Jury to move us into different seats for Math class.
"You two seemed to get on fine so if I move you to the front desk on your own just the two of you do you think you'd work well?" She asked, I looked to Joe and we both shrugged
"I don't see why not" he smiled

Joes POV
We picked up our stuff and dragged ourselves to our new seats at the front of class before Miss Jury let the rest of the class in and arranged them in the seats behind us. She handed out books and she gave me a new book, I copied what Joe has written on the front of his book but obviously writing my own personal details. His book said:

Miss Jury M2
Mathematics
So I wrote on mine,
Dianne Buswell
Miss Jury M2
Mathematics

"Perfect Dianne" Miss said glancing at my work
"Thank you" I said smiling and glancing up at her before turning back to my book.
Before I knew it i was following Joe our the door, my first proper look around the school.
"We have science yeah?" Joe asked from in front of me.
"Yes" I said trying to keep up with him as best I can in these packed corridors. We arrived at our classroom and on the door was a red plaque reading
S5 Miss Bedford-Hill
"Is that our teachers name?" I asked pointing to the sign
"Yeh" Joe replied
"Is she nice?" I asked
"Yes, you'll love her, she loves people who ask a lot of questions" Joe said. I think he's trying to hint to me that I'm maybe asking him too many questions, I look at him confused.
"Am i asking too much?"
"No don't worry I was only messing with you" he laughed
"Oh okay" I giggled
Just then the door opened,
"Okay Year Ten, quiet please" Miss Bedford-Hill said before catching sight of me
"Are you Dianne?" She asked sweetly
"Yes, I am" I replied smiling
"I hear you have an eye for science" she smiled obviously pleased
"Yes, science and dance, I love them
both" I replied
We waited a couple of minutes and then the class fell silent, starting with Joe and I she sat us Boy, Girl around the classroom. I'm okay I'm sat next to Joe and I think one of Joes mates is across from us, there's a blonde girl sat next to him who seems to be his girlfriend.
"Hey buddy! Hi Ambar" joe said clapping the boys hand and waving at the girl
"Who's this then?" The boy asked
"Oh yes sorry, Caspar, Ambar this is Dianne, Dianne this is Caspar and Ambar"
We spent most of Science chatting only to find their timetables were the same as ours according to the lessons Joe and I had together and then the other lessons like Art, DT, Dance, PE and Food Tech Ambar And I we're top set and Caspar and Joe were second set.

We spent all of our free period together, the four of us, just getting to know one another really, well it was more them getting to know me and me getting to know them but it was fun.
"School dance is coming up" Ambar mentioned
"Oh yeah, we're going together right?"
Caspar asked her
"Possibly, if your good" she teases
"Okay I will" he replies making Ambar and Joe laugh a bit
"What I will" he whines
"Of course you will Caspar" Joe laughs sarcastically. We spent last lesson laughing and joking around seems as it was Textiles. As soon as school ended we left the classroom and got out our phones and Joe, Caspar and Ambar all gave me their numbers. Today was a good first  day.
