"I thought you wouldn't want to come along." Hoseok said to me as we walk together across town.
He claimed he got some girl's number when we visited the school where I had seen her again, in a time where, for once, it wasn't a dark place but in broad daylight as her features stood out more. Her puffy eyes that day were covered so well by her painless emotion and light makeup.
"Are you kidding me? I love hitting on girls." I sarcastically replied with my head forward, hands deep into my pockets and a slight smirk spread across my face.
It was like I had the entire world at the tip of my finger. And at this moment, it felt like I did. I was going to see her again.
"You're sounding so ridiculous right now but whatever. Today is my day so no fucking up."
We snuck in while school was still in session. Hoseok walked around the building like he had been here a thousand times. No, not creepy at all.
We reached a classroom which was filled with students who were trying to follow along with the teacher who was talking too fast.
"Psst! Kim Hwiyoung! Psst!" Hoseok hyung called out, trying to get her attention like crazy.
She finally looked over to the annoying horse with a face of disgust."Chill out dude, you're making yourself look desperate." I told him as I kicked his crouching posture.
While he was making a fool out of himself, I also peeked into the classroom to see if I can find her. And just as I thought, there she was, sitting directly in front of Hoseok's girl.
I knew she would be here. That's the only reason why I agreed to tag along with Hoseok.
She arrogantly looked at Hoseok who was distracting the whole class by calling out to a specific person and then looked up at me.I gave her a sly smile, with my right hand behind my head, slightly gripping onto my hair so I can calm my exciting heart.
Almost instantly, the bell rang and everyone rushed to put their stuff away. We stood up, pretending to fit in with the rest of the students, acting like we attend school here.
The Hwiyoung girl in particular though, seemed to be in more of a hurry to do so. As she packed her things, Hoseok was eyeing her the whole time. His cheeky smile never rubbing off from his angelic face.
She came storming out the classroom door after saying something to the girl in front of her and grabbed onto Hoseok, "I thought I told you, not here." Then she pulled him away and disappeared into the crowded hallway.
I scratched my head at the weird couple and looked back at my mysterious girl again. Her face was cold, as always and she seemed to be annoyed.
She walked out the class and intended to follow her friend until I grabbed her wrist, stopping her from doing so.
"Eyy, let them love birds be." I told her as she whipped her head around to look at me.
"Hwiyoung doesn't like that Hoseok guy, tell your friend to stop being a creep," she commanded and yanked her arm away from my hand.
Ah, aggressive I see.
She walked away, one hand gripping the strand of her backpack and one hand holding her phone. I immediately latched onto her.
"What's your name?" I asked her. I wanted to know. I needed to know. Something about her pulls me in and her timing in my life is interesting, I couldn't resist. It was like she was the moon and I, as the tide, can never pull away from such a strong presence. Or was it the other way around?
"Why would I tell you."
"I meannnn, if we keep bumping into each other like this, let's become friends." I told her, too eager to know more about this cold woman.
"I don't befriend people who are friends with creeps." She commented.
I shook my head, "Seems to me your friend kind of has a thing for Hoseok hyung too, by the way he talks about her."
"Irrelevant."
I couldn't understand her. Her actions are too confusing for a little woman who was a head shorter than me. Her dark eyes avoided my hooded ones and I find it cute, the way she focuses so intently on the hallway.
"Give me your phone number." I said as I changed the subject.
She came to a halt. Then her dark eyes landed onto mine. I felt a rush of uneasiness fill up my body, the only calm remaining cell betrayed my heart and flew out of me.
Despite all of it happening, I managed to smirk a little. I guess one last cell is still working properly as my own self. Since when did one person have the power to control my emotions like this?
"No." She began walking again.
I jogged after her, "You play hard to get." I concluded.
I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear slyly. "I play hard to get rid of." I whispered as her eyes widened and she came to a halt again.
I looked back at her as I continued walking away, waving my hand and chuckling at her frozen position.
Why am I already so whIPPED?
To those of you who are reading (which is not a lot lol) this was meant to be an angst story but these last few chapters has gotten pretty cringey buttttttttt dw, it'll turn dark again soon. (;
