chapter 1: The Last Day Of School

"We need to contain this thing!"

"This whole facility is on lockdown!"

"Something's coming through!"

A scientist ran for his life through the hall of a secret facility. Red flickering warning lights flooded the halls.

The scientist looked back to see the creature that was fallowing him, he screamed in terror.

He nearly reached the elevator when something rushed past him. The man stopped. He stood in the hall for a few seconds, then his head fell off.

Lincoln Loud got out of bed with a feeling of great joy filling his body.

"Well today is a very special day." Lincoln said, he pointed to a calendar on his wall. "Because today is the last day of school!"

Lincoln got his clothes on and hurried to the bathroom.

"HEY LINCOLN!" His sister Luna said, bursting out of her bedroom door just before Lincoln got to the bathroom. "Excited for your last day of school?"

"Heck yeah I am!" Lincoln said with a smile.

"A day this special should start with music!" Luna said taking out her guitar.

"Kick it then!" Lincoln said.

"Well you've worked so hard all year long." Luna sang. "And now the school year's over, so I'm singing this song.

No more pencils, no more book, no more teacher's dirty looks.

I'll spend my days rocking out and forget about the books."

Luan chimed in.

"During school, teachers say I'm disrupting class.

But for three whole months I can tell all the jokes I want, and they can kiss my..."

Lynn jumped in.

"cooped up inside all day.

I wanna go outside and play."

Soon all the loud siblings joined in singing.

Lana "I wanna play in the mud all day."

Lola "I wanna get all my stuffed animals and throw a parade."

Lori "Texting Bobby to my heart's content."

Lisa "don't you think there are areas, our time is better spent?"

Lynn "come on Lisa, don't be such a buzzkill"

Lucy "I just wanna sit in the shade, and write poems on a nice quiet hill"

Leni "I wanna go to the mall and live there till next fall."

Lily "abybygogo."

The siblings all started to laugh, and the song was done.

...

"While I don't quite see the point in summer break." Lisa said, as the line formed outside the bathroom. "I will appreciate the time to catch up on my astronomical studies. There's a meteor shower tonight night that I intend on studying."

"This is literally the most excited I've been in my entire life." Lori said.

"This year isn't an ordinary last day of school." Lincoln said the audience. "This year is something special. Lori's graduating from high school, Lynn's graduating from middle school. And I'm graduating from the fifth grade. And to celebrate our parents are taking us camping overnight in Royal Woods tomorrow. That's Royal Wood, the forest near town, not the town itself."
