we'll be fine (part 2)

The nearly blinding sunlight coming through from the open curtains was the first thing on Wheein's mind when she woke up. Quickly though, the memories of last night flooded into her mind. The weight of Hyejin's body possessively clinging to her bringing heat to her cheeks and a peaceful feeling throughout her body. She shifted slightly, careful as to not wake the girl wrapped around her. It felt so nice to sleep after spending the whole afternoon and better part of the night away from each other. Call them clingy, but that was always their speciality. Cuddling was usually part of their nightly routine.

They had been inseparable since the moment they laid eyes on each other in the classroom of their middle school, even vowing to spend the rest of their lives together in an oddly cheesy way. Their friendship meant so much to each other, and the idea that Wheein might feel something romantic for the girl that wouldn't be reciprocated would end it entirely. So she pushed it out of her mind, or tried to. The minutes ticked by and she quickly fell back asleep, succumbing to the younger girl's therapeutic like aura.

Again, she was roused from her sleep. Only this time it was to a whining Hyejin.

"Puppy.. wake up.. I'm hungry." She groaned, slightly shaking the shorter girl's shoulder. Wheein opened her eyes slowly, adjusting to the now full on sunlight. She squinted as her gaze met the other's, Hyejin's lips stuck out in a pout and her cheeks puffed with air.

"Hyejin-ah, I'm still so tired though... mmm 5 more minutes?" She proposed, burrowing back under blankets. Not even seconds after doing so, was the fort like pile of blankets peeled right off of her. More like torn off, eliciting another noise of annoyance.

"I want you to cook for me, pleaaase." Hyejin pleaded, letting go of the discarded blankets and forgetting them entirely and crawling onto wheein, snaking her arms around her neck and hugging her tightly.

Wheein blushed at this, annoyed yet also astonished at how cute she found Hyejin. She had always thought of her as cute, but for some reason it shone even more in this moment. Sighing, she returned the hug, grinning wildly at her antics. "Okay.. I'll make some breakfast for us, what are you feeling today?"

She hummed, resting her head on Wheein's shoulder. "Do you know how to make french toast? I saw it on an American show, and it looked so good.. it has cinnamon and that maple syrup stuff.. basically a dessert."

"Uh.. I dunno, maybe? You know I'm not good at American dishes. Last time I tried, we ended up throwing out half of our pots and pans and had to get takeout." Wheein replied, both of then laughing at the memory she had recalled. Neither Wheein nor Hyejin were the world's best chefs, they mostly opted for take out, when they weren't on their harsh diets during comebacks or awards season.

Hyejin let go of Wheein and sat up. "Well... maybe some of those 'scrambled' eggs! I found a cool recipe I wanted to try a while ago. Let's do it today!" She threw her fist up in the air and bounced slightly, her excitement shaking the still lying down girl.

Finally, she sat up, sighing and rubbing her eyes. "You're too energetic for me. But fine, let's make some breakfast." Hyejin cheered at this, exaggerating her reaction with a bunch of celebratory noises. Wheein shook her head, giggling.

They made their way to the kitchen, Hyejin turning on the TV and letting some drama play as Wheein searched up a recipe on her laptop and got the necessary ingredients. Hyejin walked back into the kitchen and hopped onto the counter. The older girl slapped her thigh lightly. "Yah! Hyejin-ah, that's unsanitary don't sit on the counter."

"It's not like you ever clean, can't be that much worse." Hyejin teased, leaning back.

Wheein sighed again, ignoring the girl and focusing on trying not to burn whatever recipe she was doing. It was going surprisingly not bad, she started to mix the egg yolk and the white together, whisking as much as she could to her best results. Unsurprisingly though, it splattered a little bit, leaving her white shirt dotted with yellow. Out of frustration, placed the bowl back on the counter and pulled her shirt off, throwing it in their ever growing laundry bin and leaving her in just her Calvin Klein sports bra. She groaned, remembering the laundry she had to do. Everything was stressing her out as of late.
