Law's POV

I sighed, taking a look at Bepo, who sent me a reproachful look from inside the bag before turning his head.

"You're mad at me, aren't you?" I mumbled.

I just got out of the veterinarian's office. Bepo was already two months old, so I had to take him to get his first vaccine. And I was sure he was mad at me now.

"Don't act as if I betrayed you, I had to pay for that, it's for your health," I protested, now staring at Bepo's fluffy butt. "I had to get vaccines when I arrived at this world too, you know? More than you, I'm still not done, neither are you."

Bepo didn't move, blatantly ignoring me.

I studied him for a couple of minutes, worried he was already developing some sort of negative reaction to the vaccine. I knew some were to expect, but I had to keep an eye on him in case something dangerous happened.

When I decided he seemed fine, I let the bag hang from my shoulder and, keeping it steady with a hand, started walking my way back home. I could have taken a bus as well, but I enjoyed walking and the veterinarian wasn't that far.

"Law! Law!"

I was passing by a playground when I heard a high-pitched voice calling my name. I turned in confusion, looking for the source and wondering if I had heard properly.

My eyes soon found the little girl that ran to me with her arms wide open and a beaming smile on her lips.

"Emma-ya?"

I wasn't sure if I recognized her correctly, but I didn't have time to recheck before she collided against me and hugged me.

"Emma! Come back here right now!!" an angry but mostly worried voice demanded.

Emma-ya (now confirmed), turned to look at her mother with a fearful look, but clung to my coat and didn't move from my side. I noticed she was carrying the 'myself plushie' strongly pressed against her chest. She had some brown hair on her head now, and her face looked fuller and healthier. Her skin had a lively pinkish tone, now, against the grayish color it had when I met her.

Right when she reached us, her mother recognized me. "Oh! You are..." She paused, probably doubting between using the 'name of my character' or ask me for my 'real name'.

"Trafalgar Law. We met at the hospital," I confirmed.

"How are you and your crew?" Emma-ya cheerfully asked me.

"We're all fine. We had to make a stop here again because I needed to take my cat to the veterinarian," I quickly made up.

Her bright, brown eyes widened. "You have a cat?"

Noticing my bag, she leaned to it and looked inside through the mess. "So cute! Look, mommy!"

I lifted the bag so her mother could look as well.

She smiled. "It's like a white fluff. How old is it?"

"Two months," I plainly answered.

"Is it a girl or a boy?" Emma-ya questioned.

"Boy."

"I was playing with Law at the park," she said, showing me the plushie. For some reason, it was dressed in a yellow baby jumpsuit, and there was a blue ribbon tied around the hat and a small teddy bear tied to one of the hands. That girl really treated me as a baby... I mean, the plushie. She treated the plushie as a baby. "Do you want to play with us?"
