Fall in Love in a Coffee Shop

Tenth Cup

The next morning, Serenity turned over into a face full of fluff. Spitting out hair, she sat up quickly. Confused as to where she was, then it dawned on her. She looked down to see Chase's head under a pillow, Mocha laying snuggled between where her head was. Serenity ran a hand through her mussed hair and glanced down at them. Her eyes trailed down his shirtless torso. Dear God, he was hot. Her eyes wandered down further, at some point he must have taken off his pants. He only had a sheet blocking her view. Heart thumping, she slipped out of the bed, trying not to disturb him and made her way to the bathroom.

Horrified by the way she looked she slipped out to find her bag and brushed her hair. She wished she had her toothbrush. Looking around, she spotted his bottle of Listerine and decided that was better than nothing. Serenity didn't need him running for the hills when he saw the morning monster she was. Satisfied once she washed off her face, she made her way back to the bedroom. Chase was still snoring softly, and she couldn't resist staring at him. Weirdness overcame her and she decided to take a picture of him, he looked too good not to. And in case he wanted nothing to do with her she would have a sexy memory.

A groan sounded under the pillow and Chase caught her in the act, "What are you doing, you naughty girl?" he smirked, not stopping her. "Shall I give you more?" he wiggled an eyebrow at her.

Serenity gasped at the suddenness and hid her phone, even though he already caught her. "N-no...I mean...I just...I was...you..." her tongue twisted.

Chase laughed and sat up, "Teasing you baby." He motioned for her to come to him. Following instructions, she slipped back onto the bed. "How'd you sleep?" he asked before giving her a soft kiss. "Hm? Minty." Chase smirked.

Serenity rubbed her arm, "Y-yea I wanted to freshen up and I forgot my toothbrush..." She didn't think she would have stayed the night with him. Especially after revealing her secret. "I-I didn't think you'd mind..."

Chase slipped from the bed, pulling on his sweats. Her eyes darted away, even though she wanted to see, she just couldn't do it. "I don't mind. You make yourself at home." he smiled. "How about some breakfast?" he questioned turning back to her.

Serenity smiled happily, "Let's go to the shop! We can get fresh coffee and pastries." she offered. He had done dinner, she felt it would be nice to do something for him and get breakfast.

"I was gonna suggest the same thing." He looked down at his sweats, "Guess I should get dressed."

Getting dressed, Chase took Mocha out to piddle and then the two went to the shop. Lily and Amaya were working with one of the other guys who worked there. They were shocked to see Serenity and Chase walk in together, hand in hand. Smiling and laughing.

They immediately ran from the back and grabbed her, snatching her away from Chase. "Oh my gosh, did you stay over?!" Amaya blurted as they took her to the kitchen. Chase left confused in the front of the shop. They were both in her face, giving her deviously, questioning looks.

"Yea. It was really nice. He made me dinner." she rubbed her neck, "We watched a movie...and..."

"ANNNNDDD???" Lily and Amaya said in unison.

"N-nothing! We made out...then went to bed." She gave a shocked look. They groaned in disappointment. They were expecting something juicier.

"Aw poo..." Lily stomped, she knew her friend was waiting, but she thought if she met the right guy she would just do it.

Amaya rolled her eyes, "Well...we are glad you had a good time." She smiled and pulled Serenity out to Chase, who was ordering for them. He knew what she liked so he didn't worry.

"Wait, no! You're not paying!" she pushed his hands away from Greg, who was manning the register. He had worked for the company since Serenity's uncle opened it. He was an adorable old man who worked part-time during his retirement. Serenity handed Greg her card. "It's my turn to do something!"

Chase tried to fight her on it, but Amaya and Lily gave him a look. "Damnit...this isn't right..." he ran a hand over his face. Allowing it to happen the couple went at sat down at their regular booth. They chatted away, while Amaya and Lily giggled from the back.

Serenity had an amazing time with him. They continued to hang out the rest of the day, and she was disappointed when he dropped her off.

"I'll see you tomorrow morning." He kissed her in front of the door to her apartment. "I won't be able to be there first thing, but when I get ready to head to the K-9 training I will stop in." he rubbed her shoulders. She looked disappointed it had to end but happy she would see him again. "Sleep well." he whispered as he left. 

Watching him go, Serenity let out a sigh, then went inside her lonely apartment.
