~*how I picture Mr. & Mrs. Flowers <3 *~
The rest of the drive continued with the two singing together, and Mocha howling along. Finally turning into the not-so-busy street he parked in front of his apartment. "Here we are," Chase said turning off the car. Helping Serenity out he took Mocha to a grassy area to relieve herself. He praised her with a couple of treats and pets before leading the way inside. His apartment was on the third floor and he had 2 neighbors on either side; an elderly couple and another cop from Elliot and Zane's department. "It's small, but it's home." Unlocking the door he glanced over at the old man coming out to collect his mail, "Evening Mr. Flowers!" Chased waved happily.
"My, my, Son!" The old man hobbled over cheerfully, "You have finally brought home a young lady!!!" He was overly excited. "Martha! Martha, Chase, my boy, he's found himself a pretty young woman!" As he spoke loudly, a tiny older woman with a perfect white perm hobbled her way out as well. Chase turned beet red. What did he start?
Martha made her way up to them, shifting her large rimmed glasses on her tiny nose, "Well my goodness!!! This must be...Serenity! Chase has told me all about you!" She looked her up and down, "Coffee maker, was it? Oh, I love a good cup of coffee!" she rambled on, "My my, she is even prettier than you described!" Martha turned to her husband and whispered, not so quietly, "She has child-bearing hips, he made a good choice!"
Serenity's mouth gaped open, but before she was able to speak, Martha continued to ramble, "See here dearie." she pulled Serenity to the side, "Chase is a lovely man, so helpful! He will make you a wonderful husband!"
Serenity and Chase were both red as cherries. Finally, he spoke, "T-Thank you both, but I should really get to dinner. We are both starving." He smiled politely.
The older couple pat them both on the shoulders and said their goodbyes. Even walking away, the two chittered on about how cute they were together.
