Lance's POV

I'm ready.

It's my time.

I step closer to the edge of the canyon.

I prepare myself for what's about to happen.

I keep shaking and crying so I try to sing my favorite song.

"That night I put my y-youth in a cas*gulp* casket..."

I take a another look behind me. Just the castle and my team who look so small from here.

"And buried it inside of me..."

I turn all the way around to them. I scream, "I love all of you! I love all of you with my entire being! But it's my time to leave!" Shiro and Hunk start running to me and the rest of the team starts to follow.

I look down.

"And now I'm the witness to the death of a hero-o-o"

And I jump.
My body is whipped around in the air.

I open my eyes for a second.

Water.

There's water below.

I've always loved the water.

I'll be where I belong.

My body flips and I'm facing up.

My team is at the edge, getting smaller and smaller.

I flip again.

There's still a lot to fall.

and.....
impact.....?

Keith's POV
As the rest of the team and I wait for Allura to finish the meeting with the leaders of this planet, Lance yells to us from the canyon.

"I love all of you! I love all of you with my entire being!"

Shiro and Hunk look at each other and start sprinting to him.

He turns around.
No.
I start sprinting too and pass Hunk and Shiro.
No.
I keep going to get to him.
No!
He jumps.
NO!
I stop at the edge and see him.
I can't believe what he's done.
This canyon is at least 30 miles deep and he's getting faster. Everyone is around me now.

"No!" I jump in after him and activate my jet pack.
I need to get to him.
I can't let him die.

and.......
rescue.....

Lance's POV
I wait for impact.
It doesn't come.
I open my eyes and Keith is holding me.
"WHY! WHY DID YOU JUMP!" He yells at me. I start sobbing in his arms and he holds me like a little kid.

We make it to the top and I can see the team.

"Lance!" They yell with a collective sigh.

My body is trembling so hard that even Keith is shaking.

He puts his hand to my forehead.

"You're burning up..."

He activates his mic and talks to the team.

"I'm taking Lance to the castle. He's trembling and too hot."
"We're on our way."

He lands and walks up the runway. When we get inside, he beelines for the lounge.
"Coran! Coran!"
Coran rushes in.
I look up in fear.
"s......sorry.....it happened..." I muster out. I'm handed to Coran like a toddler. He carries me to the couch.

"My boy.....Why?.......I need you....The universe needs you.....Blue needs you." I start crying harder and cling to Coran. The rest of the team flies in. They all try to bombard me with questions and my crying gets harder.

"please..........." I tell Coran. He helps me to the couch and Keith puts me on his lap. "Shhhhhh....." He tells me. "It's okay now....."

Coran starts reprimanding the team.

"Maybe if you all started to look around at all then you would've noticed Lance is hurting! You all didn't even notice when he stopped eating! You all will have to leave. Everyone. Do not allow Allura back in here."
I continue to cling to Keith and cry. Hunk points at Keith and tries to ask why he gets to stay when Coran interrupts him, "Keith saved Lance. He gets to stay until Lance moves off of him."
