seungkwan's pov

I wake up at 8 AM that morning to a loud beeping noise going off and soon my Doctor rushed into my room with joy written all over her face. "Seungkwan! After 5 years of waiting, you're finally getting a heart! We're preparing it and by the end of today, you'll be having surgery!" I feel myself being overflowed with joy before it finally hits me. I was getting a new heart. I could live. I could live my life as a teenager and then I could be healthy and I could be with Vernon and we could grow old together and not have to worry about my stupid heart because it was gone and I had a new one instead.

"Holy shit!" I felt my eyes brim with tears and I immediately grabbed my phone to text the group chat and Vernon. I jumped out of bed with new found energy and ran out of my room where people stood, a sign that was held up from the ceiling read: 'Congrats Seungkwan!'. I cried in front of everyone and by the time I was done hugging and thanking everyone Vernon and the others were there, celebrating with me.

I was allowed to eat the chocolate cake that was specially made by the cooks down in the cafeteria and I was able to talk with everyone while in the comfort of Vernon's arms. "Hey baby, I'm so happy for you," Vernon mumbled in my ear as we ate in silence, everyone else was having their own little conversation with each other, happiness obvious in the air.

"Thank you... I'm happy I get to spend this day with you." I bend my neck back and look up at Vernon who plants a soft kiss on my nose. I giggle and the other boys soon join us in our seating area.

"Hey Vernon," Joshua nods and Vernon smiles lightly at him. "Seungkwan I'm so proud of you. You've been so strong throughout these years and now you're finally getting your chance to live. You are the bravest boy I've met and I may sound like your mom right now but I don't care because it's true and I love you so much thank you for being my friend. Our friend." I could see Joshua's eyes get red and then the first tear spills and soon all of us are crying together.

By the time everyone was gone, it was around my surgery time so my friends and Vernon stayed by my side all throughout the night. Vernon and I cuddled in my bed as we played some random game, taking turns. The others were all passed out but Vernon and I were happily taking selfies.

"Hang on..." Vernon took a wet wipe from his bag and rubbed it on my neck so all of the love bites were visible. I blushed and it turned redder when he took out his phone and took a selfie of us together. "You're too precious." he giggled and gave me a wet kiss on my cheek.

"Seungkwan... You have your surgery to attend..." I nodded and laid down on the bed while Vernon woke up the others in a fast-paced manner so they could all say goodbye before I left. They bid their goodbyes, hugging me until it was Vernon's turn. He kissed my forehead and gave me a lopsided smile.

"I'll be waiting for you when you get out, princess." and out of the room I went, I was rolled down the corridors and into the surgery room where I was put to sleep as they fixed me.
