"So this is it? Just ice skating, huh?"

"Welllll...it's a little more than that."

"Oh, fuck." I rolled my eyes.

"It's just that this is what you see on the outside. However..." We reached a curtain, further away from where we had originally started. Rian lifted it up; I didn't want to be here anymore. What I saw, was irreversibly embedded in my brain. "This is what you call VIP. Sort of like at a concert, but instead of meeting the band members, you meet the real fun."

"God, Rian, really?"

"Hey!" He shrugged. "Gotta get that money somehow." I couldn't argue with him. He showed me around, and ended up saying, "You should come again sometime."

"Psh, yeah right." I said, as I saw a familiar person behind him. I pulled him closer to me, whispering, "You didn't tell me Jack was here!"

"He's the one who got me this position, dude. He's the best around here. Has seniority too. You, know I was skeptical at first, but the first time we-"

"Oh god, stop right there!" I paused for a moment. "I-I'll be right back."

I wandered towards Jack, without with a thought out plan of what to say, but I did remember vaguely what Mark had offered. "Hey..."

"W-What the fuck are you doing here?" He looked at me wide-eyed, but I just point to Rian, which gave him somewhat of an understanding. He nodded, and we stood in silence for a moment, until I gathered the courage to speak up.

"Look, I wanted to apologize about how I acted earlier. I-I just wasn't in the right mindset to explain how I felt and still feel."

"Okay...so now what?"

"I wanted you to know, that I didn't regret what happened between us, I just wish that we weren't drunk when it happened. I didn't mean for it to change you."

"What do you mean change me?" There was slight hatred in his tone.

"I mean, what happened to you. You never relied on sex for a living. And Rian? Really?"
"I didn't have a choice. And earlier..." He scoffed. "I relied on you instead."

"And what's that supposed to mean?" My anger was unleashing, gradually.

"We were best friends, but you shut me out! I relied on you which was obviously a mistake." He spat, releasing the scent of alcohol from his mouth.

"I guess I'll leave, since clearly this isn't going anywhere."

"Wait...I-I'm sorry. I want us to work."

"Figure out as what first. Because friends isn't working." I walked away, wanting to slam my head against a wall to forget everything.
