I woke up the next day, with a terrible headache. I didn't wanna get out of my bed, but I knew sooner or later, I'd be beckoned to prepare for tour. I checked my phone, which had received a voicemail from Mark. "Hey, man. No studio today. Heard about your rough day. Take a break. I got it all covered. Let me know if you need anything." I pushed my head back down into the pillow in relief and decided that I'd figure out my feelings for Jack today, and set up a plan immediately.

As soon as I actually got out of bed, I got a facetime from Zack. "Hey, what is uuuup dude?"

"I...am in LA! Wanna hang?"

"Yeah, I'm down. I could actually use your help."

"It's about Jack, isn't it?"

"Okay...how does everyone seem to know my brain but me?"

"Alex, your brain is deadweight. Predictable."

"Haha. Very funny. But seriously, it's like I don't even know what to do and then I try something one of you guys tell me, and all of a sudden Jack and I are closer."

"That's because your ideas are —how do I say this nicely— shit."

"That wasn't nice."

"Yeeeaaah, I know. Anyways, I'll see you at the park?"

"Sure. I'll bring Sebastian. Bye." I hung up, and sat for a minute to think. God he better have a plan. I put on some decent clothes and headed out of the house pretty soon. "You're gonna make some new friends, boy." I picked up Sebastian and placed him in the passengers seat of the car.

I got to the park in about ten minutes, and attached my dog's leash before finding Zack. "Hey! Nice to see you back in town! When did you get here?"

"Just last night. Kind of wanted to surprise y'all, but now I see you seem busy with your love life." He kneeled down to play with my dog.

"Okay, it's not that bad...but I do need your help. I have to think of a plan to get Jack on my side. I thought about it last night. I think I really do like him, but I'm not so sure, so I've got to get him on my side first, and then see how I feel." We walked over to a bench to sit for a while.

"Okay, then just tell him you're doing much better now, mentally, and that you want to be friends. The next part won't be too hard."

"That might work for now, but I don't even know how to be friends with him. He keeps avoiding me."

"I got this. I'll just make all of us hang out tonight and then give y'all some time alone I guess."

"Sounds like a good plan. I hope I can fix things between us."

"I promise, you'll be able to trust again. Jack's a good guy...and his brain isn't deadweight like yours."

"Hey! Not funny!" I tried not to laugh, but it did cheer me up. We talked some more and actually walked around for some time before heading our separate ways.
