A brisk chill trickled down my spine as I huddled into the contents of my scarf. For a weathering and seasonal change called 'summer', cold air and shivers were widely unwelcome at the moment. I understood why I felt that way as I turned to look at the candle which was brightening up each spot. It had snuffed out, the warming, yet small flame wasn't visible anymore. The room temperature wasn't bad at all, windows were closed - no form of wind could have entered into the room.

Everywhere I looked was now a vast blanket of darkness that covered each part of the room, especially the corners. Of course, I wasn't in the type of spirit to enjoy a pang of cold just coming in at the moment.

I looked around to see what the source was, but absolute darkness. From the spot where I was sat at, there was a door only a short distance away. It had swung open, I heard a female call out words I actually understood, some around the lines of, 'Hello?', or 'is anybody out there?'.

My brain could easily puzzle all of the pieces together, the female voice I heard had came in, in hopes that she'd find somewhere where she wasn't all alone and weary. My fingers began to grow numb as I stood up, bold of her to assume that someone was in the room - wait what? That didn't make sense. From the shadows portrayed by the little bit of light, the girl was tall.

Her voice seemed raspy, but not the bad type of rasp - the one that everyone wished they had. Even myself, what were the odds? I shifted my feet slightly, it was an interrupting type feeling that I held. The silence in the air stopped.

"H-Hello?! When are you going to answer, I-" The pestered female voice continued, I cut her off almost immediately.

"...Shhhh..!" I shushed her, lifting my index finger infront of my lips.

The redhead was still there, sleeping - she was tired, I could tell. I didn't know from what though, considering I felt wide awake and ready to start off my day - even if it felt almost impossible in these circumstances. Just then, another two voices made an entrance, I could tell because the noise had faded from nearly inaudible to easy to understand. They were male voices, ones I didn't specifically recall.

"Heck - heck, you better get up and leave! Tell her you're not interested! Hey! Listen to me..!"

Another voice came into the room, it was semi-childish, almost immature to be infact, like a prepubescent thirteen year old male or something of those odds, it held lots and lots of voice cracks.

"Shinguji..! I know how this is going to end! Two. Words: Not good!" The boy kept rambling on and on, "take it from a handsome man who knows!!"

His voice was almost contemptible? I didn't know how to describe it at first, but upon hearing it, it was loud. I heard something get knocked down, like papers. The drop to the floor was faint, and each noise of the individual paper held its own eloquent touch into the atmosphere.

"We need to get up, up and going before it's too la- AAAAAND, she's here."

"Hey, Stranger." A female voice had scurried its way into the conversation, she spoke. I assumed it was to 'Shinguji', which I had only known because of the second voice portrayed. I was confused by all this sudden noise, it had been a dark, silent room with just the redhead and I, now it seemed that four more people had barged in.

"Hey, do you mind keeping your volume low?" I asked, in a whisper.

One of the teenagers, around my age - had cocked their head at me in confusion, did they not understand-it was such a simple request. My finger then pointed at the sleepy maiden, hoping the three would catch my drift, it isn't a hard thing to catch on to, I'm not asking for much.

"Oooh...!" One of them said, finally understanding. It sounded like one of the males, who's voice was more on the childish spectrum.

He then turned around to the others, "Guys, we gotta keep it down, there's someone sleeping!" He recommended, almost obliviously - then and there, was when I thought the situation couldn't have gotten any worse.

The tall female nodded, "Anyways, I'm guessing you woke up here too?" She asked.

I simply gave her a nod, not knowing what else to say. I occasionally glanced back at the girl, making sure she was in good shape, or atleast alright. In situations as these, it was the only thing to hope for, right? Wrong. It's well ... one thing in two words; fucked up. Okay, two words .. four words, fi- who the hell cares? Very, very, very fucked up.

Then again.
Any fool could only pray.

It all reeked of hope, false hope.

...

The girl seemed to be stirring, twisting and turning. Was she heaving a nightmare? Possibilities were low, and I was only relying on myself for such concluding statements. I felt sympathy for her, she looked frightened like that, my eyes winced. She began to really bring wanted thoughts of my younger sister, she looked the very same way she did when she has awoken from a nightmare, up from her bed and running to me.

I sighed and folded my hands on my lap, my vision had broken from the female, and up to the three students, "For a while I thought it'd just be Anthony and I!" A female's voice boomed from the hall. I saw the white haired male nod in reply.

....

Damn. Some people reflect light, some deflect it; this male by some miracle, seemed to collect it. Gross ..

"Well, I thought it'd be just me and this ... girl?.." I responded, not knowing what else to call her, what if it wasn't even a her?! He, they - I could go on forever, god. I had promised myself not to enclose myself in my thoughts ever so often, yet thoughts - upon thoughts, upon thoughts had appeared. All circling around as I steadied myself. An ache, a whirlwind .. excruciating pain? That was it.

Another one of the girls came in, she seemed to have something tied around her waste, and looked almost naked. I turned my face away when I noticed. As I did so, she let out a small giggle.

"Hey, no need to be shy!" She teased. A male with gray hair looked semi-uncomfortable with her actions, as he turned around as well. This caused the female to giggle more, "So all the men are shy here?" She joked again.
