"Okay you might feel a slight pinch," Doctor Osman said as he injected the needle into Rose's arm.

"I thought DNA tests used spit?" Rose asked wincing form the sharp pain.

"Some do but I've found blood to be much more effective," He said placing a cotton pad on her arm "hold that there for about, well, till the bleeding stops." He laughed standing her up.

Rose walked back into the reception where Helena was slowly sipping away on a coffee the station had provided this morning. "Rose!" Helena said almost jumping out of her seat. Rose sat down and got under the blanket with her. "Just between you and me, this coffee is awful." She said with a laugh but Rose wasn't smiling. "What's wrong sweetie?"

"What's gonna happen to my dad?" Rose asked trying not to cry, "is he going to jail?" Rose couldn't say she didn't love Andy. He raised her. Taught her how to walk, talk, read. He loved her too.

"I don't know. If you are my daughter I suppose... maybe...but let's not think out that now." Helena said smiling at her, "how about we think about how wonderful it would be if I've found my baby."

"But what if I'm not?"

Helena grabbed Roses face making her look up at her. "You are. I've never been more sure about anything in my life."

"Miss Bonham Carter to the medical ward. Miss Bonham Carter to the medical ward" the loud speaker announced.

"I'll see you in a bit?" Helena said before giving Rose a kiss on the head and heading off to have her DNA test. Rose sat alone in the waiting room for about ten minutes before she started to get board. She knew she should say put but fresh air was all she wanted right now. Getting up from her seat in the waiting room she headed outside. Just 2 minutes would be fine and Helena was taking for ever any way.

The fresh air help calm her nervous stomach. Of course Helena was her mum. She was the spitting image of her. The calm feeling that washed over her didn't seem to last long. She suddenly started feeling drowsy. Expecting to hit the pavement Rose braced herself for impact, but she never met the ground.

"Glad to see you're awake." Rose could barely make out anything. Her vision was doubled and her ears were ringing, but she knew that voice anywhere. "You didn't think I'd just let you leave? Just let her take you away like that?" He said in an almost manic tone.

"What's going on? Da— Andy?" Rose whimpered scared of the truth.

"You can still call me dad Rosie!" He yelled before slamming on the breaks "I raised you! I earned that title!" He let out a laugh "you know I was thinking about homeschooling you for a while now. There no real reason for you to ever leave the house anymore come to think of it."

Rose couldn't breathe. She had to think of a way out but her hands were tied and she was locked in the car. "Let me go I want to be with Helena she's my mum!" Rose said in a fit of rage. Everything had been going so well.

"How do you know she's your mum? Where the proof?" Andy said with a smirk.

"We took DNA tests their have the results any day now!" She yelled. Adrenaline had stopped her fear. Or maybe it made her over look it for the moment. Andy slammed his fist on to dash board.

"No. You didn't!" He said almost gloating. "My old friend Osman gave you an injection didn't he? And then soon after you felt woozy? I thought you were smart?"

Rose's heart stopped. He drugged her. Who knows how long she'd been out. "What did you do to my mum!" Rose yelled struggling had her restraints.

"I didn't do anything. I told my friend to get rid of her."

"No!"

"Yes and your going to stay with me forever! I've saved you Rose." He said whimsically, "Your going to thank me one day." Andy pulled up to their old home. Rose knew when to pick her battles trying to run now wouldn't get her far. Not when she still had these drugs in her body. She had to play a waiting game.

Andy sent her to bed pretty early that night but her lack of resistance left him on edge. Rose had hoped cooperating would get her out of the zip ties around her wrists but it hadn't worked. Once she thought it was safe she crept down stairs. Luckily no doors were pushed up.

"Hello," She said quietly on the phone. Rose had called the police. "This is Rose Pauls I've been—" the phone cut out "hello" she said a little louder but the phone was dead.

"I knew I was right to have my suspicions." Andy said coming back up from the basement. "But I didn't think you ever be stupid enough to use the land line. Who did you call?" He yelled.

Rose had a feeling answering truthfully wouldn't help her in any way and lying may not be the best course of action either. "I-" But before rose could say anything there was a bang from the entrance hall.

"ANDY PAULS YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!"

The police had come? How did they know where to go? Rose had barely given them her name! She watched as Andy was forcefully detained and a nice man lead her out of the house towards his car and inside the front seat was Helena!

"Mum!" Rose yelled realising this was the first time she'd called Helena that to her face but it was welcomed by a teary-eyed smile. "Are you okay?" Rose thought she'd lost her.

"I think so I woke up in that doctors office not long after he taken my blood. Turns out he had drugged us." Helena continued to explain how Doctor Osman was now Under police custody.

"But How did you know where to go? I didn't manage to I've the police my number in the phone?" Rose asked.

"Rose?" A familiar voice said from behind. "Thank goodness your okay! I called the police the second Andy went up to bed." Mia said hugging Rose. "If only I had know what he was capable of..." she couldn't finish her thought but Rose understood. She may have never got along with Mia but she cared about her and the same could be said the other way.

"Thank you." Rose said before the car drove them back to the station. "I'm sorry for going out side." Rose said sobbing into Helena's neck as they embraced.

"It's okay sweetie. I shouldn't have let you out of my sight." Helena held onto Rose as if her life depended on it and in a way it did.

The next few days were gruelling for every one involved. Luckily, the amount of evidence against Andy and doctor Osman was enough to get them sentence to prison, and Helena and Rose had a real DNA test proving once and for all that they were mother and daughter.
