I pulled my hoodie up over my head, attempting to keep my hair dry from the pouring rain. As usual, my mom was making me walk home.

It was dark out, even though it was only 3 o'clock. I could hear the screeching of cars in the distance and the bright headlights shining past me.

"She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak, I've been locked in your heart shaped box for weeks"

'Heart Shaped Box' By Nirvana was playing on my phone and I was humming along.

A red car begins to slow down next me and I start to quicken my pace. Hey, they could be a kidnapper, or a child molester for all I know. The window rolls down and I stare into his car. Damn Jordan, way to be creepy.

"Do you need a ride?" The person in the car asks. He sounds young, maybe he's a high-schooler.

"No thanks, I'm fine" I say, my voice shaky. I'm not good at socializing. I can barely ask for extra sauce at restaurants without contemplating if it's worth it.

"Come on, I'm not a kidnapper, I promise."

Wow, how convincing.

"I'm fine, I'm almost home anyways."

He shrugs and continues to drive off. Just as he's out of sight a boom of thunder fills my ears.

"Shit." I mumble, I should've taken the ride.

I keep walking, jumping in puddles like the inner 6 year old inside me. The same car is parked just a little farther down the road. I run up to it and he opens my door for me.

"Thought you might reconsider." He says with a chuckle.

I take a good look at him, he's gorgeous. With blonde hair and blue eyes, who wouldn't find him attractive.

I get into the car and fasten my seatbelt. I pull my hood down and lean back into the seat.

"17284 Arbor Street. Just a little more down the road and then take a left." I say.

"Got it." He starts the car and continues to drive towards my house.

"What's your name?" He asks.

"Jordan. What's yours?"

"Luke. Hemmings."

Luke Hemmings. The name sounds familiar but I don't know from where.

The rest of the ride is completely silent. He pulls into my driveway and let's me out.

"Thanks." I mumble and get out.

"Anytime." He says and drives off.
