So it's been two months since the accident and I'm all healed up to the point where the doctor cleared me to start running for my track team again. My first meet was in a few days and Lauren and Vanessa were excited to see me on the field again. Another big thing that was coming up was my 18th birthday. I wasn't that excited for it but Dean has been dying to celebrate with me since he learned when it was, he's actually been counting down the days until my birthday. I told him not to buy me anything, but I knew he wasn't going to listen to me. So then I made him promise not to buy me anything too expensive. I'm a little worried that he's going to go back on his promise and buy me something expensive. But you know what? I'm gonna trust him that he won't, but if he does decide to go back on it I know that I will absolutely love it. All because it would be from him. I swear that man will do anything  for me, and I would do the same. Anyway I never have really liked my birthday. I guess this is because it seemed like this arbitrary day where my parents would try so hard to not argue and fight and it just seemed so fake. However not only am I going to be turning 18 I will also be a legal adult who can vote and move out whenever I want. I honestly didn't really want a huge party but I assumed that Lauren, Vanessa, Nancy, and Myriam are going to collaborate, and through a big party, and also of course makes sure my boyfriend knows about it but doesn't tell me or give me hints. And boy was I not only right but I was way off on how big it was going to be.

They had Dean take me out to dinner and a movie after school while they set everything up for my surprise party. So that's exactly what he did. He took me to my favorite restaurant and took me to see a new movie that I was dying to see, then after that apparently they weren't done setting up so he took me to my favorite book store to get a new true crime book. He apparently had found the one true crime book that I had read when I was a little girl, and it was my absolute favorite book in the entire world, and I had been looking for the past few years but couldn't find it anywhere. So he found it.

I was so excited I couldn't wait to start reading it again so I told Dean that I would meet him in the car while he was paying. As I was walking out I started reading it because I was so excited. But what I didn't realize was that as I was going across the road a drunk driver didn't stop at the speed bump and I of course didn't see him. I break the sound of breaks coming to a halting loud screech, but the car was going too fast, but before I could even react or get out of the way. I feel these big strong muscles around my waist pulling me to the side. It was Dean of course, but what didn't make sense to me back then was how in the hell did he get to me so fast? I was too far away from the store and him that even an experienced runner or football player could get to me with how fast the car was going it seemed impossible. However he did save my life for the second time now so I wasn't going to read too much into it. He just picked me up and turned me facing away from the road and towards the store. He hugged me so tight that it felt like someone was squeezing my guts out, but it made me feel safe.

"Oh my god! Are you ok? Are you hurt," he asked me frantically.

"I'm fine honey I'm fine I'm just glad that you got to me that fast."

"Baby are you sure you're ok? You're shaking."

"I'm ok I'm just a little shook up. With that being my second near death experience in the past 2 months, I think shaking is a little bit expected."

"True. But hey I kept my promise. Didn't I? The promise to always keep you safe and to not let anything happen to you."

"Yes you did and I hope you can keep it for a lot longer."

"I will be around as long as you want me around."

*Dean hugs Lydia in a passionate and intense way*

"Then I want you around forever," I said with my head berried in his chest.

*a buzz comes from Dean's back pocket*

"Oh. We should probably start going," he said with a slight bit of worry in his voice.

"Why what's going on? Who are you texting there," I said being nosy and trying to put my fave up near his phone to see who the misery person was.

"Oh nothing I just think it's getting late and we should start heading over towards you house."

"Ok then we will."

*Dean puts his arm around her as they walk to the truck*
