-----/////-----

Riley watched Maya dance on the rooftop of the Matthews apartment building, adoration plain across her face. Her own limbs were overly long and gangly. She had never really learned how to manipulate them like her girlfriend. Maya looked beautiful, the moon was full and bright, despite the New York lights, Riley could have sworn she saw a few stars. It felt like a perfect night.

She wished she could dance well, that she was comfortable enough with herself to even try and keep up. Riley loved the way Maya fit next to her, the way they fit together like puzzle pieces, made to match and interlock. On occasion, Maya could convince Riley to join her anyway. Those blue eyes could convince Riley to do nearly anything. She grabbed Riley's hands and pulled the taller girl to join her.

Maya's smile was so wide that Riley thought it must be hurting her cheeks just like the grin on her own face. The music slowed down and Maya wrapped her arms around Riley's middle, tilting her head to rest on Riley's shoulder. This part, Riley was good at. Pulling Maya close, swaying in circles, and listening to the music was pretty easy. Her heart felt full and Riley was certain that she had never been happier than she was right then with Maya.

When Maya tired of dancing and was ready to go inside, Riley offered her arm. Maya linked them together and leaned on her, knowing the taller girl was always willing to hold her up and support her weight. Riley left her out sitting on the couch of their apartment, next door to the Matthews. Ever since Maya had opened her own art studio and begun teaching, giving lessons, and actually selling her art; Riley had been living out her dream as a teacher. The only complaint Maya could have possibly come up with was that they still lived right next door to her parents. Maya loved Riley's parents, they had basically raised her, but Maya had to adjust to dating their daughter while being so very close to them.

Riley ran a hot bath in the clawfoot bathtub Cory and Topanga had gifted to them. It was Maya's favorite housewarming gift when they finally moved in together. Maya hadn't taken a true bath since she was a tiny little one. Beyond her time with Riley, baths were one of her favorite parts of her day. She felt as though her moments with Riley in the bathtub were the favorites of her life so far.

Maya had never imagined it was possible for her to have a life or a love like this. She had been gone for Riley since the very first time they had met as munchkins. Her girlfriend came back to their living room, still littered with unpacked boxes, and took her back to the bathroom. Maya noticed that Riley was in a bathrobe. The thoughtful girl had dimmed the overhead lights and lit some candles. Maya looked up at the soft and loving smile on Riley's face before pressing up onto her tiptoes for a kiss. They had only just started on their paths and already Maya couldn't wait for the rest of their lives together.
