"You mean to tell me that Dom, the person that you've been kept up with on the internet and social media since last year, now lives beside you?" Matty asks, now allowing me to realize how stupid this sounds. If my friend told me this I would think they're lying too.
"I don't think you're lying, I'm just kinda baffled. This sounds like something straight out of a fan fiction." He raises his eyebrows, Vic hits him one good time on his arm which causes him to get off my case.
We're standing beside the front doors, waiting for the last bell to ring so we can take off to Matty's car, we're going out and then crashing at my house, today allowing them to because it's a Friday. He'll see then.
Matty is openly bi with Vic and I, only telling people he really trusts. Nobody actually knows, and right now his current crush is a girl in our psych class. That's where we should be right now, but our teacher isn't here so all the students dispersed among the school; we're smart and chose the front of the school so we can bolt out real quick.
My phone dings, the notification draining all the color from my face and I can feel Vic and Matty's eyes burn into my skin, wondering what's up with me.
yungblud started following you.
I let out a chuckle, not even able to comprehend what he's possibly doing at his house right now. Trying to find my Instagram. Successfully finding my Instagram. Huh.
"He followed me." Is all I say before they both slide over to me, squeezing me between them. Their jaws are slightly parted as they also realize that this isn't a fairytale, and it's definitely not my imagination.
Matty goes to open his big fat mouth before the bell rings, stopping him right in his tracks. Saved by the bell.
He rolls his eyes. "Come on bitches." He clutches his keys in his hand as we push the front doors of the school open, stepping out into the parking lot.
Vic hops into the backseat, allowing me to hop into the front. I plug the aux in, and refuse to push on Dom's music. Dom's music? What am I? His friend?
I mean, maybe I'm something like that. I don't know, I refuse to get my hopes up.
"Nadia! Snap out of it. What do you want to eat?" Matty is ready to punch me as he sees my mind once again wander off; I'm not even able to keep conversation. I don't even know how I've been able to concentrate this whole day; I literally can't wait to get home.
Of course I like hanging out with my friends, but bitch Dominic Harrison lives beside me.
I roll my eyes and a million food places flash through my head. "Chick fil a." I mutter, of course settling on my favorite. They usually agree with me, and that's actually how we all became friends. I'm not too fond of stepping out of my comfort zone too much, and they have good food anyways.
"Of course." Matty puts his car into drive and we head out of the parking lot, with the music blasting through the speakers.
When I'm alone, or given time to think, I always think back to the situation I'm in. It really is crazy and that it's really happening to me. Maybe it won't work out and we can't be friends, or we'll just be those neighbors who don't talk. He did follow me though, and maybe I'm just thinking about it too much. I should just enjoy it while it's in my face.
We arrive at the food place and I furrow my eyebrows when he heads through the drive thru, us not going in like we usually do. Matty takes notice and laughs.
"You think we're going in when your hot neighbor is waiting for you? Yeah, right." He rolls his window down as we pull up to the menu, not giving me anytime to react. He doesn't ask me since I get the same thing every time, and I'm sure he's memorized it by now.
"Wait. I wanna buy him something." I say, looking at the menu. Dom looks like he would like chicken nuggets. I add that meal to my order.
Vic hands him a ten, I hand him fifteen, and he pays the person as we pull up to the window. He grabs the food and the change and we speed out of the drive thru.
"You really bought him food! Oh my god Nadia." Vic screams, happy for me but nervous at the same time. I shrug, shoving the straw in the bag.
"I feel like I'm obligated to for all the shit his music has got me through." I shrug, now finding myself to always want to buy him things. I swear, every time I go out he crosses my mind. Like, 'Oh Dom would like this.'
"I fuck with it." Matty says as we start the short journey to my house, making my heart only beat against my chest even more. I gotta get used to it if he's about to live beside me for a long time.
A couple minutes go by and we start to enter my neighborhood. Vic quickly grabs my phone and clicks on his name, California blasting through the car radio. Matty looks at her through the top mirror.
"Scream the lyrics whore. We call know you can, and you gotta get his attention somehow." Matty shrugs at me as he told the windows down.
"What? Are you insane?!" I ask him, snapping my neck towards him. He furrows his eyebrows at me.
"Oh yeah okay like he doesn't assume you listen to his music? Plus aren't you going to have to walk up to him to give him the food anyways?" He asks me.
"Good point." Vic points at him and then me, and before I know it, we're pulling into my driveway. My heart beats even quicker as I see them all sitting outside on the front porch. He bought rocking chairs. He's so fucking cute.
"I'm not getting out." I lock the door. I want to sink into the floor when I see all of them looking over here, probably hearing how we're blasting the music that they all work on.
"Okay. Sit in here and die of heat stroke." Matty shuts the car off. He's mean. He gives me one look before he opens his door, a look that tells me I better hop out too.
I slowly hop out with both bags in my hand. One for Dom and one for me. "Do I go alone?" I turn around to ask them, and they're both gone. The front door is slammed shut and I purse my lips when I realize that obviously answers my question.
Adam and Michael both head in, and Dom stands up to go for the door too. He stops in his tracks when he sees me walking over to him. A smile appears on his face and I can't stop looking at him.
"Hi. I- uh- it's tradition to go eat with my friends on Friday but we just decided to bring it back here." I ramble at first. He nods, letting the door go and it closes.
He takes notice of how I'm nervous but sees the two drinks and two bags in my hand. He takes a step closer, only making me more nervous.
"Sorry. Anyways, I decided to buy you something and I wasn't sure what you liked so I just kinda guessed." I continue to ramble on, still not giving the bag up yet. He nods once again, leaning against the house with his leg crossed.
He's wearing a black and pink striped shirt, black pants, and his usual creepers. My heart is in awe at the sight of the pretty boy.
I think it's cute that he isn't rushing me, and it makes my heart really warm. He smiles at me.
Shaking myself out of the trance, I hand him the bag and drink. He grabs them, thanking me.
"That's it then. Bye Dom." I turn around, wanting the conversation to be over and fast.
"Do you uh- do you wanna come in?" He asks me, and I widen my eyes with my back turned to him. Oh my god. I slowly turn around, and a smile is sitting on his face.
"I just- I have something to give you too." He shrugs, placing the bag and drink in one hand. He opens the door with his other, holding it open for me.
