First chance he got, Mohe took me to my usual bathing place, which we dubbed Mossy rock and made love to me in the shallow pool. Today, I sat at Mossy Rock contemplating my life. It has changed so drastically over the past three months. Sitting up, I realized that I haven't had my moon time for almost two months. Could I be...?
I looked down at my flat stomach and slowly counted the days since I had been with Mohe. It was the last week of the month when Mohe confessed his love and told me that I was his wife, that was exactly two months ago! How did I not notice that ?! I pulled my dress up to my belly button and smiled. Jumping up, I ran the distance to the tepee Mohe and I shared, my hair flying behind me. Pulling at the opening, I entered, he wasn't there.
I turned around and walked out of the living space. Looking over the area, I spotted Mohe talking to a group of men. I ran over to him, slowing down when I was close enough to hear them talking. Tapping his shoulder playfully, I ran back to our tepee. I didn't have to look behind me to know that he was following. I feel his gaze following me. I walked into the tepee laughing and sat on the furs.
"Rose ..." he called after me before stepping into the tepee.
" Come, " I said beckoning him, " I have something to tell you ."
Mohe stalked towards the furs in two long strides, giving me a quizzical look.
" Is something wrong?"
" Everything's fine .. I'm pregnant! " I said grabbing his hands an placing them on my lower belly. Mohe hugged me and showered my face with kisses.
" I love you Rose, " he said in Cherokee.
I woke up in the middle of the night with the most horrible urge to relieve myself. My bladder was so full it hurt. I flipped the furs off my body and sat up, only to be pulled into Mohe's warm muscular body.
"Where are you going ?" he asked, his voice groggy with sleep. Pushing his thick eyebrows together he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me even closer to him.
" Mohe .. please let go! I have to get up. Please !!!! " I pleaded, my words muffled against his chest.
"I'm going to wet myself," I said clenching my thighs.
He finally let go, his deep chuckle following me outside. When I got back inside I practically dove into the furs, it was so cold.
" Your feet are cold. " Mohe grumbled, scooting away from me.
"Hey! Come back here. Come warm me up. " I said laying on top of his body.
" No, you're too cold," Mohe whined playfully. I stuck my hands underneath the covers and placed them on his warm thighs, and giggled when he hissed in mock pain. I loved this side of Mohe , when he was playful. He usually reserved this side of him for me and young children.
"Mohe ? " I questioned placing my chin thoughtfully on his chest.
"Would it be better if the baby was a boy ?"
" It does not matter as long as you and the baby are healthy," he said kissing my hair. I looked at Mohe face, illuminated by the fire.
"You're beautiful. " I whispered.
Mohe let out one of his deep chuckles, the sound rumbling against my chest. "Why do you say these things? I thought in your language beautiful was used for a woman and handsome a man? " He asked puzzled, " You confuse me. "
"I'm sorry but I mean what I said .. "
" You think of me as a woman? " Mohe asked offended.
