it was a peaceful wednesday night, jungkook was sitting beside taehyung's hospital bed, admiring his features. although it had been four years since taehyung was conscious, taehyung still looked the same. his features were still drop dead gorgeous. however, he was still in a coma. after an entire year.
suddenly, jungkook saw taehyung's hand twitch.
his heart started beating at an impossibly fast rate. he immediately clicked the button that informed the doctors when taehyung was awake, and not even after twenty seconds, the doctors and nurses arrived.
jungkook instantly backed off, letting the professionals do their work. even though he was a surgeon himself, he wasn't especially skilled in such an occurrence, he's usually the one cutting open flesh and performing surgery, obviously.
his heart was beating so fast and his eyes lit up. taehyung was going to wake up, and he just knew it. he couldn't contain his excitement and started crying tears of joy. he hoped so dearly that everything will go smoothly and that he can finally see his taehyung conscious again.
finally, after one hour of waiting outside the hospital room, a doctor, followed by a nurse went outside to meet jungkook.
he immediately jolted up his seat and looked at the doctor will curious eyes. the doctor returned a warm, reassuring smile and that was when jungkook finally smiled.
a real smile. one that contained so much happiness, hope and relief.
"taehyung is awake, you can go see him now. he's in very good condition. make sure to not make too much noise. if all goes well, he will be able to go back home with you again."
jungkook was so happy, so, so happy. words could not describe how he felt at that moment.
he saw all the nurses and doctors go out of taehyung's hospital room and taking one final deep breath, jungkook stepped into the room.
and there, was taehyung, lying down, but slightly leaning up, with a tired smile on his face. his eyes were open and jungkook smiled so bright his jaws started hurting.
he ran towards taehyung, and buried his head in taehyung's chest. he bursted out crying, he was way too happy.
"i-i-i missed y-you so m-much y-you don't e-even know..." he stuttered out with his face still buried in taehyung's chest.
taehyung smiled lovingly, overwhelmed with emotions. he finally spoke, and god, jungkook almost fell in love all over again right then and there.
he finally heard taehyung's voice again.
"i missed you too bunny, i missed you too. so fucking much" taehyung croaked out. tears were welling up in his eyes and they both cried endlessly, making small conversations here and there.
jungkook finally felt a sense of belonging, and that was the feeling of being in taehyung's arms.
"i waited for you. for four years. i wrote so many letters, cried so many times. i love you so much it's sickening." he choked out.
if he was being completely honest, the amounts of tears he cried was uncountable.
"i love you jeon jungkook"
