Voltron//Black Paladin

3rd P.O.V

The Paladins of Voltron were all gathered in the hangar of the Black Lion.

"I still don't think this is a good idea, we can't just replace Shiro no one can." Said Keith with his arms crossed in his chest a sour look graced upon his face as he looked from the Black lion to Allura.

"Keith we've already discussed this, Yes no one can replace Shiro but the universe needs Voltron to defend it" She said then placed her hand on Keith's shoulder. "I know this is hard for you this is hard for me too but we must do this, For the sake of every living creature counting on us to save them" then she put her hand down.

"Alright here is the Order, Allura will go first, Then Hunk, Pidge and Keith, Then Lance" Coran said as he twirled his beautiful moustache.

One by one they all took a turn in order but walked out with different reactions, Allura walked out with disappointment gracing her features, Hunk was just pleased he wasn't chosen, Then Pidge with a little frown, none from the three of them seemed to work, finally it was Keith's turn as he stepped onto the lion's open mouth.

As Keith walked inside her cockpit(is that right?) He was preparing for the worst. He knew the lion would choose him because Shiro wanted him too.

Imagine his surprise when he sat in the lion's seat, hands on the handle, nothing lightning up and honestly? Keith felt both relief, shock and disappointment at the same time.

The others where waiting outside the lion for who knows how long until Keith came out shock written on his face the others mirroring him.

"There must be something wrong. Why isn't the lion lighting up?!" Allura exclaimed looking around the others for answers but none had

"L-lance it's your turn..." Keith quietly said as he turned to face him.

Lance gulped, if the lion didn't react to Keith how will they ever form voltron?!

Of course Lance didn't think of himself being it's pilot.

Lance P.O.V

I nervously walked to the seat, my legs felt like they weighed 400 kg each, I got to the front of the seat my legs glue to the floor not letting me move one bit

After what felt like years I was able to move and sat at the chair. I shakily reached my hands onto the handles gripping it softly and gently as I waited for something to happen.

Nothing

I let out a sign of course I knew it now all I-we have to think about how to find a new black paladin

I was about to stand up but something made my heart stop.

Purple lights filled the place

My heart was racing. No please no please...

But it was inevitable the truth punched me in the face like Zarkon did

I'm the new Black paladin

I felt the lion sit up then let out a roar.
I stood up then walked out of it's cockpit

As I walked out I took in the others reactions

Allura was pure shock and disbelief
Hunk had excitement in his eyes and body language
Keith had shock at first then turned to understanding then letting off a small smile
Coran looked ecstatic
Pidge looked like she was holding in a storm of laughter

But she couldn't hold it in much longer

"BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA! L-LANCE THE NEW BLACK PALADIN?! HAHAHAHA *wheeze* HAHAHAH O-OK GOOD J-JOKE BLACK HAHA You can take Keith back now phew" Pidge bursted out as she wiped the tears that formed on the corners
