Ω Aria Ω

I nervously clutch my small kitten Saber to my chest as my mother and I await the train to Hogwarts. My mother places her soft hand onto my shoulder, causing me to look up at her. "There's no need to be worried my little Lioness. These next seven years will be the best years of your life. You'll have your father on school grounds as well if you need anything. I'll write you and your father as much as possible." She smiles her familiar, comforting smile and pulls me into a hug as people start loading onto the train. "I love you so much Aria, you should hurry so you can get a good seat." I nod at my mothers words, finally gaining the ability to speak again. "I love you too mom." She waves as I head onto the train.

Once settled into an empty compartment, I pull out my book of magical creatures, Saber laying in my lap, purring in his sleep. I was just getting pulled into the book when I hear a soft knock on the compartment door. "U-Um, h-hello, would you mind if I sit here?" I look up at the boy who spoke to me, his hair is a soft reddish brown, it hangs just slightly over his eye, his eyes, I cant help but look at them, they're a beautiful shade of blue, and they hold so much. My mother always said you can tell a lot about someone just by looking at their eyes. I tend to steer clear of anyone because eye contact and me don't mix well, but his eyes, I see shyness, curiosity, and so much kindness. I snap out of my daze and nod at him, he gives a soft smile and sits across from me. "I'm Newt, Newt Scamander." He speaks up after a few moments of silence. Oh no, conversation, I'm not good at speaking with people, but I don't want to be rude. "I-I'm Aria Dumbledore." I glance at him, not able to make eye contact with him again like I first did when he knocked on the compartment door. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aria." Hearing my name from his lips makes a strange feeling flutter in my chest, I slowly start to relax a bit more. "It's nice to meet you too Newt." His smile widens, causing a faint one to form on my lips.

"So what house are you hoping to be in?" He attempts to start a conversation. "I'm hoping Hufflepuff, that's the house my mother was placed in." He nods and I go silent again, looking back down at my book. "Are you interested in magical creatures too?" He asks, I perk up a bit , looking up from my book. "You like magical creatures too?" He nods, causing me to close my book and put it to the side. "I've never met anyone other than my parents and I that are interested in magical creatures in a positive way." A smile brushes across my lips. "My mother is a Hippogriff breeder, so I was raised to care for and love creatures. I hope to find a way to educate other wizards and witches about why we should be protecting them instead of killing them." As he speaks, I find the courage to glance up at his eyes, they sparkle with so much passion and happiness when he talks about magical creatures, it's rather adorable. "Would you like to be friends with me Newt?" The words fall from my lips, they were foreign to me, I never really bothered to make friends, but Newt is different, I want to be friends with him. Even though the question is rushed, off topic, and quiet, Newt smiles, that happiness never leaving those beautiful blue eyes. "I'd love to be your friend Aria."
