Ember stared down at the sweatshirt he gave her. Setting the dress she had worn to party down next to her charging phone, she walked over to the door.
He stood on the other side.
"Thanks, again."
Cole shrugged, "No problem."
She backed away from the door to let him back into his own room. The girl watched as he went straight to his bed. His back hit the headboard and his legs extended out in front of him. His eyes, which she had now figured out were a hazel brown, fell on her.
"You don't seem like the type to go to one of my brother's parties."
"Well, I don't usually go to any type of parties but Olivia wanted me to come."
"So, let me guess," he spoke with a smirk, "she made you come, promised to stay with you, then ditched you as soon as you got here?"
"She didn't ditch me once we got here," she muttered looking down at her feet. As much as she hated to admit it, he was right. This same situation was written down in so many stories, yet Ember believed it wouldn't happen to her.
"She still left you by yourself eventually."
"Okay, yeah, but I still love her to death."
