"Mother. Father. I'm home."

"Kiki! Why are you home so late?" My mother popped her head out from her room. Her chocolate brown eyes narrowed at my empty hands. "What did you do to my basket?"

"We got chased by some wolves and we left it on accident."

"You left it? How could you leave that basket, now I have to buy a new one." She walked towards the kitchen and grabbed a cup to drink. "Did you at least kill something?"

"The wolves got it."

"Why do you even have your leopard anyways? It didn't even help you carry your stuff."

"Rory is not an 'it' Mother," I huffed. One sniff from the air, and I knew she had been drinking. "Anyways, where's father?"

"Asleep."

"I needed to talk to you both about what Academy I'm going to."

"Hopefully the Diamond Academy." My mother flipped her long shiny black hair back. It wasn't naturally black. When in the light, her hair used to become this light brown that had hues of red and lighter brown. She had dyed it from her natural color, yet my hair was still the natural color.

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about."

My mother arched her perfect eyebrow. Being a musician means that she had to look beautiful and stunning all the time. Everything that was deemed perfect was all natural, except the hair. Lucky enough, I had many of her features. Her high cheekbones, petite face, small plump lips, round eyes. However, when put all together with my father's features I look, well, weird.

I was much taller than most girls, my father is a lot taller than many males. My baby face had made me look younger than most, but my height was odd. Oz was probably only an inch taller than I was, and he was already 5'11"

My mother continued to stare at me until she went to call in my father. When he finally came out he looked at me in the eyes and gave me a small smile.

"So, what is it about the Academies you wanted to talk about Kiki?"

"I want to go to the Emerald Academy."

"You what?"

"You what!"

My father had said in question and my mother had said it screeching.

"Why would you want to go to the Emerald Academy?" My mother continued to screech.

"Probably because of Wilde's son," My father grumbled.

"Is it because of him? I knew I should've forbidden you to go hunting with him."

"No, no, it's not because of of Oz, mother." I rolled my eyes. My mother opened her mouth to yell at me for rolling her eyes. "I just didn't want to go into Diamond, you know they don't have the best orchestra around."

I was right. Well, half right. Each of the schools had specialized in a specific field of expertise. Ruby specialized with sports and racing, Topaz with languages around the world. Sapphire with the sciences, Diamond with math and medical fields, and Emerald specializing with the fine arts and animals.

Emerald isn't the top rated one at all. However, they were known to work with the fine arts and study animals.

"I thought you wanted to be a doctor," My father assumed. He did not truly knew me, but I would much rather him speak than my mother who is standing with her arms crossed, narrowing her eyes at me.

"I never said that, I didn't know what to specialize in, and I figured that music was a good idea since I know a few instruments already."

"I suppose." My father shrugged. He looked at my mother. "Hell, what do you think honey?"
