zion answers my text with a FaceTime call and i quickly pick up. my heart immediately sinks at the sight of him. he looks tired and lifeless.
z: "hi" he mumbles silently and i frown. bec: "hi Z" i reply "you look like shit" i add with a soft and playful smile and he chuckles weakly. z: "i know i know" he says and my face becomes serious again "it's Haley" he adds. bec: "what about Haley?" z: "well...remember when i kissed her that one time after we "broke up" " he replies and complements his answer with air quotes. i nod. "well she's been questioning me about how i feel towards her and shit ever since then and i'm just confused ya know?" bec: "yeah..that sucks Z..." i say, not quite sure what to tell him. z: "do you have any female advice for me?" he inquires. i giggle. bec: "not sure about this one...i mean no one can know how you feel about her except for yourself" i answer. z: "yeah you're right...i'm not even sure why i let this eat up at me so much" bec: "she means a lot to you, i know she does, romantically or not, and you're gonna figure this out" i say with a comforting smile. z: "okay okay enough about me! what's the deal with you and.." he starts but i immediately shriek to interrupt him. bec: "if you say Brandon i swear i will hurt you" i answer and he laughs. z: "too bad you can't hurt me for another 17 days!" he fires back and i roll my eyes, the goofiest smile taking over my face. "nah i was actually gonna say Dylan" bec: "ooh..." i immediately get choked up. honestly even i don't know. we've been friends since forever just like me and Z but it feels different now we're both a lot more grown and a lot more mature and we're also a lot more comfortable with each other. i hang out with him constantly since my mom loves having him around just as much as i do and it's honestly amazing. i do love him so so much i just don't know exactly to what extent or in what way necessarily. bec: "it's... complicated" i reply to him, avoiding eye contact through the screen. z: "no it ain't" he says "you need dick, period". bec: "ZION!!" i yell, turning the volume on the phone slightly down, he wheezes. z: "what??? it's true! and Dylan has had a massive crush on you since forever so just go for it if it feels right. do something spontaneous for once, something for yourself". bec: "damn dude you got real deep there" i answer smiling "has he really had a massive crush on me forever?" z: "damn right, but i beat him to it" he says with a joking smirk plastered on his face. bec: "you're a dumbass" i tell him, the familiarity of his stupid ass smirk sinking in as i get the feeling almost as if he was standing right next to me.
