As our attacks clashed on the beast, only a few feet apart, a large explosion occurred. It sent us both flying and tumbling on the ground. After we had come to a stop I was standing up when he stormed towards me.
"HEY WATCH WHERE YOU ATTACK JACKASS!"
I stood up, sizing him up, I was a good 5 inches taller than him. I then realized it was the guy I had recognized earlier.
"Chemico Chemicada?" I asked with anger rising in my voice.
He then realized who I was and had an, "oh shit, I'm dead", look on him face.
"YOU DARE CALL ME A JACKASS AFTER THE SHIT YOU DID TO MY BEST FRIEND!?" I screamed at him until I felt tears welling up in my eyes.
The buzzer sounded breaking the silence and we left the battleground. As we boarded the bus I realized I'd have to break the news to Amber. When we arrived back at the main campus I saw Amber, Lucas, and Heidi sitting on a wall with my bag. As I walked over I told Amber I needed to tell her something in private. With the serious look on my face she just nodded and walked with me to where the busses were, and no one else.
"Ace, you know I don't like being out of other people's sight for too long, so please make this quick." She was glancing around, nervously.
"I know, but what I have to tell you relates to that, Chemico is here and he might get into EMA." I revealed the news to her.
She had a look of horror on her face, sweat started beading on her forehead, and she had the look of fear from deep in her soul. She ran away towards Lucas and Heidi. I saw her grab her bag and run towards the exit. When I ran up to Heidi and Lucas they gave me looks or confusion and worry"
"Long story, I'll explain later, but we need to go get her. Like NOW!" I blurted out, grabbing my bag, and chasing Amber.
As I ran to catch her I saw her slow until she came to a stop and fell onto her knees. I caught up to her and put a comforting arm around her.
"*sob* Not again, *sob* I can't, not again." She bawled into my shoulder as Lucas and Heidi caught up.
"We won't let him near you, not after what happened." Heidi was consoling Amber.
"P-please walk me home guys, I need it to feel safe." Amber had slowly stopped crying , but was still weeping a bit.
The three of us nodded as we helped Amber stand up. The four of us walked towards the train station to take the train to Amber's place.
"Hey Ace, can you handle it from here? Heidi and I are picking up her sister from the other station." Lucas said when we got to the station.
I nodded in reply as we headed to the train and scanned our passes. When we got onto the train I decided to stand so that Amber could sit but she clung to me, and while I felt feelings of warmth throughout my face I kept my composure.
"Ace... thank you for this." She said softly when we got off the train.
When we got to her door she kept clinging.
"I want you to come inside... I need to tell my dad something and I want you there." She said staring me down intently with her sea green eyes.
I nodded as she opened the door and led me inside.
