After watching FaceOff and eating a ton of candy I looked over at the clock. “Hey Patty, I have to go to work in a couple of hours.” He turned over and looked at the clock too. “What club do you work at and what time do you have to be there?” Yawning I stood and stretched. “Starlight an-“Patrick squealed and jumped up and down excitedly. Alright someone is excited. “You work at Starlight?!” I nodded raising my eyebrows at him. It wasn’t that exciting was it? I mean it’s an awesomely awesome place but… damn. He made the place sound like a candy store going out of business selling its candy half off.

“Starlight is the best teen club in the country!” Someone did their homework. “Yeah, I’m the DJ.” Another squeal came from him. Goodness, he’s like a cute little ginger pig. “I can’t believe I’m best friends with a famous person, how exciting!” I shook my head at his spunk. “I’m nowhere near famous Patty.” He put his hands on his hips. “Have you read any blogs? Been on twitter, Facebook or tumblr?” I shook my head and smiled sheepishly. “It isn’t like I have a reason I don’t have friends Patrick.” His eyes filled with sympathy. I didn’t need it.

“After every night at your club someone talks about it. From the music, food, drinks, ambiance, all the way down to the music this is provided by you the DJ. I don’t know how you don’t know. You are a big talk online! I had no idea you were the Rickey Rondell they were talking about.” I raised an eyebrow. “How many Rickey Rondell’s do you know?” He rolled his eyes. “It isn’t like you told anyone your whole name. Everyone only knows you by Rickey which could be a guy.” It was my turn to roll me eyes. He had a good point.

“You are so popular Rickeesha!” That name again. “Yeah sure Patty, I’m going to get ready now.” Patrick shook his head at me. “Can I come too?” I shrugged my shoulders. “If you want to I have no problem.” He got off of my bed and started jumping up and down. “This is going to be awesome! I can’t wait!” This guy can get really hyper. Walking over to him I led him to my computer. I pulled up one of my favorite game sites and sat him in the chair. “Good Patty. Now play games while I get ready.” I pat his head and walk away. I already know he’s pouting but he can’t resist playing a few games.

I go into my bathroom and strip. Hopping in the shower I lean against the cool tiles. Am I really famous or even remotely popular? It isn’t as if I walk down the street and am bombarded by screaming fans. Or even paparazzi for that matter. Shouldn’t famous people have fans and paparazzi on their tails 24/7? Well it isn’t like I go out much anyway.

I can see how I’m known around the club but it isn’t like I’m some prodigy DJ. I’m good but I’m not like Pauly D good. Wait, did I just compare myself to Pauly D? Where is my low key no friends life going to? Well I sure don’t get treated like a famous person and for that I’m grateful. I mean who wants to be catered to, put first in line, given the best things in life on a silver platter, millions of dollars to spend however. Well I wasn’t lacking in the spending department. Getting out of the shower I decide I don’t want to be famous. Known for my DJ skills sure, but that’s all I want.

I don’t want to be followed around on the street and stalked while I’m in my own home. That could get a little creepy. It would be cool to give someone an autograph though. I walked into my room to find Patrick sprawled out on the floor. Umm, ok? He wasn’t moving. Still in my towel I walked over and tapped him with my toe. “Patrick.” He still didn’t move. “Patrick!” Not even a twitch. Do I need to check his pulse or something? Taking two fingers I did what I always saw in the movies… that’s what she said! I checked his pulse and his heart was still beating fine.

I tapped my chin. Well ain’t this a debacle. “Oh well, might as well go out and get some donuts and strawberry milk all by myself.” Damn, he’s a sucker for a jelly donut and strawberry milk. Maybe he has some medical condition I don’t know about. Nah, he doesn’t. I walked into my closet and put on bra and underwear. I poked my head out to see Patrick still on the ground. That’s really weird. Oh man, where is my Starlight shirt? I get down and look under a few shoe boxes and see a piece of blue fabric. Hehehe gotcha now. I grab it and jump triumphantly. I’m a boss like that. I squeeze the shirt over my head.
