Chapter 6:One Hell Of A Party
Blake's POV:
"Are you sure this is appropriate?", I asked Reece, holding my arms over my breasts.
"You look great.", she said, swatting my arms away.
"I feel like I'm too exposed..."
"Oh shut up.", she said, fixing on my veil.
"Did you get this from slutty costumes dot org?", I asked, pulling up the front. I felt like my boobs were hanging out and it made me really uncomfortable. Reece rolled her eyes.
"You look fine, come on it's time to go."
Reece had also been invited. She was dressed as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas to go along with my attire. We had a whole Tim Burton fan thing going on.
We made our way outside and into Reece's car, and we began driving to Bryan's house. She turned up the music, which was my Halloween playlist. The first song that came on was Miss Murder by AFI and then, as expected, Trick Or Treat by Ghost Town. We jammed out to a couple more songs before arriving at Bryan's place. As soon as I got out, my heart stopped. I saw Kevin holding roses, dressed in a Victorian outfit, much from the same time period as Emily of the Corpse Bride.
I put my hand over my mouth as he approached me. He bowed and handed me the roses, revealing his face makeup. One of his eyes was completely concealed in black to appear like an empty socket. He had drawn on stretched lips and rips in his outfit for the ribs to be painted on, as I did too.
"...wow...I um thought you were going as Pikachu...", I said in awe. He smiled and grabbed my blue painted hand saying,
"I figured the corpse bride should have her corpse groom."
My heart fluttered with excitement as I clutched the roses.
"Thank you so much, this is super sweet of you."
He didn't say anything but he smiled, guiding me into Bryan's house where Reece had already disappeared into.
"Happy birthday, Blake.", he said, handing me a shot glass full of some kind of smoking liquid. He grabbed one himself and I knew it was safe enough to shoot. So I shot it back real fast and made a face to control the burning sensation.
"Was that just pure vodka?"
I suddenly got the urge to kiss him. But I was so scared. What if that kiss today meant nothing. I couldn't just sit around waiting for him to tell me if he meant it. I had to take action and do something.
He laughed, shooting his.
"Yep. Wait you just turned 21 how do you know what vodka-"
I cut him off by kissing him. My heart was racing and I didn't know what he was going to do. He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer, kissing back. When we pulled away, I felt the tingles in my lips and refrained from touching them, although I really wanted to. He kept his arms around me.
"...so you really feel that way then?", he asked awkwardly, his forehead pressed to mine. I closed my eyes and sighed.
"It really isn't that simple. I feel so many different things..."
He brought his hand up to my chin and lifted it so we kissed again.
"Be my girlfriend."
Even after all that had happened, I still wasn't mentally prepared for the question. I still did not expect him to come out and say it.
"Well...", I began. He gripped me harder.
"It wasn't a question. It was a demand."
I looked into his eyes. They weren't stern and evil, though his expression seemed to show some sort of dominance. His eyes were soft and I knew it was okay.
