Blake's POV
I sat in front of Kevin, brushing my hair. He rolled his eyes.
"Girls take so long to get ready."
I rolled my eyes too, with a smile stretched across my face.
"Sorry, I swear I'm almost done. I'm not gonna straighten this mess."
He laughed as I laced up my combat boots.
"So lets go."
We began walking towards his car. He opened the door for me. I sat in the passenger seat. As soon as I sat down, I flipped through the CDs in the console. I laughed as I pulled out The Afterparty.
"You aren't allowed to own your own album.", I complained.
"Do you?"
"I haven't compiled an album."
"Do you own the singles?"
I pressed my lips together.
"...no?"
He chuckled as he started the car. I popped in the disk and flipped through the songs until Under Wraps came on. I love that song, it was super cheesy and fun.
He drove a little ways as we sang along and made our way just a little ways down the street. He took a lot of less busier streets.
"How many times do I have to mention, the scars, the imperfections, are what make me want you more?"
I giggled. That definitely had to be my favorite song.
"You really have a beautiful voice."
I smiled.
"As do you."
Eventually we came to reach our destination at Waffle House. I laughed, thinking of the song Coffee and Cigarettes by Never Shout Never. Except we weren't "just friends" anymore. We'd finally made it official. I really liked him, more than I cared to admit to him. I felt like a stupid, giddy schoolgirl with a major crush. I was so embarrassed about the bubbles I had. Bubble is the way Reece and I said 'the ability to love someone that you don't already love'. They were similar to butterflies. Except seven billion to the 134 power times stronger. I bubbled him. That's what I mean.
I sat across from him in the restaurant and ordered a Dr.Pepper. He did too.
"You're the only one that knows my secret, other than the homies, you know. Because we share it."
And your ex, I thought. But I wouldn't say that. As soon as I thought it, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a very familiar face. I began to get anxious and remotely agitated by memories. I tried to ignore him as I chatted with Kevin, but Chris saw me and walked over to us.
"Sarah?"
I looked up at him. He must've been 6'3". He was taller than I remembered him to be. After all, we only dated for a little while during one of my fights with my murderous boyfriend.
"That's not my name. You've got me confused with someone else."
"That's you're real name right?", Kevin said. I mentally slapped my forehead. My wide eyes showed Kevin that he shouldn't have said that. His eyes became wide.
"You are hiding from me? You blocked me and everything."
"Can't you see I'm on a date? And you're being rude."
It wasn't really a date, but when I said it, It rolled off my tongue so smoothly that I believed it.
"Oh it's too bad. I still kind of love you."
