The day went by in a blurr. The three of them spent every minute together, over joyed to be together after a month of separation and knowing they would probably drift apart slightly during school. They savored it. At the end of the night after Victoria went home to see her friend Chelsea, Luke walked around the neighborhood with Abbi. “Hey” “Hey” he repeated. “Isn’t it weird?” “What?” “How during the day, when the sun is up, everything is so much different. Then, when the moon comes up, you feel so much more emotion and everything is different. I never thought about it, but now I feel so weird”. They walked in unison for a few seconds while she processed the fact that she actually said that and Luke took it all in. “Yeah. It’s weird. Don’t you think it’s weird how we are going to look back in a few years and barely remember things like tonight, I think that’s so weird” Abbi’s throat burned. “Luke, don’t talk about that”. Her voice came out strained, as she expected. “Sorry. Your right. Were here right now, so fuck the future”. He squeezed her against him as they kept walking and she held back tears.
A little while later she asked, she wanted to be a good friend, “So, tell me about this girl of yours”. Abbi wasn’t sure if she was seeing correctly but she thought she caught him wince. “Yeah. Um, I met her swimming in the lake one night. We talked and swam and just started hanging out. One night we were playing truth or dare and she kissed me. Eventually people started considering us a thing. She wrote her phone number on some paper for me but I haven’t texted her yet, I’m not sure why”. Abbi took a deep and silent breath. “Wow. That is so cute, Luke. Really”. He smiled, was it fake, “Thanks babe”. Babe! “Can I sleep over?” “Are you getting tired baby Jakie?” He laughed, “Camp wore me out”. Abbi giggled and tugged him in the other direction so they could go back to her house.
Jake was supposed to sleep in the guest room. He never did. Instead, they both curled up on Abbis bed. Not even centimeters apart from each other’s skin, feeling the warmth of their bodies. “Hey, Jake. Do you remember that time you and Victoria dated?” He didn’t say anything. “What was that all about? We never really talked about it”. She wanted to know, now more than ever. “Well, I’m not sure. I guess she was one of my best friends, beside you, and we had our first kiss together. It was just so easy and comfortable and it felt nice kissing her. I mixed up the feelings I had for her as a friend for feelings that meant so much more. It was worth a shot though, or we never would have known”. Abbi pondered it, why didn’t he take a shot on her? “Hey, Jake?” “Yeah, Abb?” “Remember how we used to play all those games?” “Yeah” “Want to go back in time, just for tonight?” She felt the vibrations from his body and heard a deep chuckle. “Yes please”.
Hey guys. Hope you like it. Things get intense between Abbi and Jake in the next chapter. (Abi or Abbi? OOPS i FORGOT!) lololol :) xoxoxo- cayla
