Chapter 2: A Weird Hello

There we were, staring at each other. The men I recognized looked at me, some of them looked around the kitchen. These men were from Wizardess Heart. I looked at what they were doing. Leon poked at a coffee machine, Lucious kept opening drawers, Zeus examined my phone, and Guy asked Cerim what my iPad was. Of course, he had no clue.  I felt uncomfortable about the others staring at me, a girl wearing clothing they have never seen before. In the game, they dress as if they were in a different time, despite being in the same year.

My mouth was dry, but I somehow managed to open my mouth. I lowered my pan, almost forgetting I grabbed it.

Me: H-Hello...

Azusa came straight up to me and glared.

Azusa: Who are you and why did you summon that portal?
Me: P-Portal...?
Azusa: Don't act so stupid. We all saw that portal. You could have hurt somebody!
Me: I-I didn't summon a portal! Did... Did one of you do it?
Azusa: None of us casted such a spell. Tell us how did you do it?
Vincent: Enough!

Azusa looked over at him as Vincent came closer. (God, these men are tall.) His face came closer to me.

Vincent: She didn't do it.
Glenn: He's right.
Azusa: How do you know?
Glenn: I can't sense any magical power coming from her.
Sigurd: Neither can I.

Azusa stared back at me.

Azusa: You're right. There's nothing coming from her.

He backed away from me.

Sigurd: Sorry that we scared you.
Me: I-It's ok...
Sigurd: What's your name?
Me: Isabella. Isabella Brescia.
Luca: What a nice name.
Me: T-Thanks...

I smiled awkwardly at them.

Hiro: Where are we? And how did we get here?

They all looked at me. Then Klaus came up to me. (Holy crap... He's actually here.)

Klaus: If you didn't do it, then is there anyone else here that may have summoned that portal?
Me: N-No. I'm afraid that no one in this world made that portal...
Elias: How do you know?

I looked towards Elias' direction.

Me: I-I'm afraid that...magic does not exist.
Zeus: Pfft! As if!

He pushed the others aside.

Zeus: I am Zeus Brundle! I'm the pinnacle of all creations, alive or dead! Let me show you what I can do!
Me: Oh great. There he goes with that stupid introduction again.
Zeus: Wha-! Stupid?! The only thing that's stupid will be your face when you see my-
Klaus: Wait. Did you say "again"?
Me: I...
Hiro: Zeus, do you know her?
Zeus: Huh? No way. This is the first time I've met her. I don't see how she can know me either.
Vincent: Interesting. How is it that you know he's said that before when you two have never met.
Me: Well, Vincent. It's actually hard to explain...
Vincent: And how do you know my name?
Randy: Are you a stalker?

I looked over at him and notice he's eaten some of my cookies.

Me: Did...Did you just eat my cookies?!
Randy: Oops...Sorry! I got a bit hungry.

He smiled at me.

Me: I'll have to bake some more now.
Randy: Can you? They were really good!
Leon: I am hungry...
Luca: Can you bake some for me?
Leslie: I want to try it.

They all started to talk at the same time.

Klaus: Quiet!

Everyone stopped talking.

Klaus: Didn't you all forget why we are here! We are here to investigate, and find out who cast that portal! Starting with her!

He pointed right at me.

Me: B-But...I didn't do anything!
Klaus: Somebody did. And we will find out if you did it, even if it takes a year to figure it out.

He scared me when I first met him in the game. I was in love with his character, as a matter of fact. But since he's never actually met me, he terrified me. I backed away until I felt something sharp under my feet.

Me: Ow!

I then remembered that I heard glass being shattered. Either one of them accidentally knocked it off the table, or the "portal" was so powerful that it blew it off. Either way, my foot was bleeding.

Klaus: You are hurt...

He came closer to me and examined my foot. (Oh, so now you wanna be nice.) Then Elias came closer.

Elias: Let me heal you.
Me: I-It's not going to work.
Elias: Just watch.
Me: ...

(But, it isn't.) Elias carefully took the small piece of glass out of my foot and took his wand out. He pointed it at my foot.

Elias: Sanatio Aura.

Nothing happened.

Elias: Sanatio Aura!

Still, nothing happened. And that frustrated him. He continued to chant that spell for a minute.

Elias: Sanatio Aura! Sanatio Aura! Sanatio AURA!

I grabbed a napkin and placed it on my wound. It stung a little, but I coped with it.

Joel: Let me try.
Me: Singing won't help it either. Let me just take care of it myself.
Joel: I can do it.

His singing didn't work either. Leon, Klaus, Mel, Leslie, Sigurd, and Azusa attempted to heal it. Everyone was in shock that they could not use their magical abilities. All I could do what put pressure on it to stop the bleeding and bandage it.

Cerim: Let me help you pick up the shards of glass.
Lucious: Me too!
Mel: Just sit there. It'll be a pain if you stepped on more.
Randy: After this, can you make some more cookies?

Everyone looked at him.

Azusa: Did you really have to ask her that?
Hugo: Especially after she hurt her foot?
Klaus: She is not going to move. Her foot is hurt, so don't bother her.
Randy: But I'm hungry!
Me: I-I can make some more. I don't mind at all.
Randy: Yay!!

Klaus sighed, and Randy hugged me.

Me: R-Randy...!
Randy: ...And while we have some cookies, you can explain how you know my name!
Me: Sounds good to me.

Soon, every piece of glass was thrown away. I had to tell them where my broom and dustpan were at. After helping me clean, I began to bake more cookies. Since I knew a few of them didn't enjoy sweets, I used a sugar substitute to put on top of the peanut butter cookies. That way, both sweet-tooth and non-sweet-tooth people can enjoy warm cookies. Klaus was staring at me as if he suspected me. That look told me he didn't trust me one bit. I just knew it was going to be a long day for me.
